Just after views on Anouk please: love it, hate it, couldn't care less either way?

Love it. It's a beautiful name

Jooni · 01/07/2017 08:36

Really love it. If I have another DD she'll probably be Anouk.

user1472377586 · 01/07/2017 08:45

I love, love, love it.
It is my cousin's name.

It is a Dutch name, female. It is a strong name and 'wears' well through life.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 01/07/2017 08:56

I love this name!

Scrumpernickel · 01/07/2017 12:14

Beautiful

FizzyGreenWater · 01/07/2017 12:27

Lovely

MikeUniformMike · 01/07/2017 15:50

I like it. It's a form of Anne/Anna in French/Dutch. Annie?

harderandharder2breathe · 01/07/2017 16:02

I know one who is 7, I like it

FartnissEverbeans · 01/07/2017 20:32

I love it but sadly it doesn't go with our surname. I hope you get to use it!

Elbi · 01/07/2017 23:29

As above - hope you can use it on my behalf as it sounds silly with our surname!

DuggeeHugs · 02/07/2017 01:10

Thanks all - if this baby turns out to be a girl I'll let you know if we use it!

Don't like it. Sorry.

WaitrosePigeon · 02/07/2017 06:20

I know an Anouk. The only problem is absolutely nobody bothers with the A. She's just Nouk. Which may irritate you.

MikeUniformMike · 02/07/2017 17:09

How about Nanou or Manon?

scortja · 03/07/2017 16:42

I knew a very beautiful Dutch Anouk.

Sadly we (Australians) abbreviated it to Noukie.

SoftBlocks · 03/07/2017 16:51

Love it. Was on my shortlist but vetoed by DP.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 03/07/2017 20:29

Love it!

Chloris33 · 03/07/2017 22:06

I'm half-Dutch, and it's a popular name in the Netherlands. I like it. Thought of using it myself, but it's not quite soft enough for me. Think it's a cool name, though. Wonder how well it'd be appreciated in the U.K. Not necessarily a reason to be discouraged, though.

Helspopje · 03/07/2017 22:09

Are you Dutch?
If so prob reminiscent of the pop/rock act

If not - why are you considering it?

UsernameInvalid66 · 03/07/2017 22:56

I believe it is a standalone name, rather than a shortening of Anoushka

I think they are related, in that they are both ultimately diminutives of Anna or Anne, but they come from different languages and are both used as independent names now.

I don't love Anouk, as a collection of sounds, but I kind of like the quirkiness and rareness of it. I think the idea that you have to be a certain nationality to use a name from that country is a bit dated now (it reminds me of my mum, who used to get a bit sniffy about people who weren't Scottish being called Ian - and she wasn't Scottish herself!)

Sunbeam18 · 03/07/2017 22:58

I love it. Anouk Amee

diodati · 03/07/2017 23:31

Love it! Girls name, though,

DuggeeHugs · 04/07/2017 00:42

Hels no, I'm not Dutch. It's just a name I have come across in literature and really like, both in look and sound Smile

Now you say that though, I should probably consult one of my Dutch friends for their views!
