Prefer Ada Wink

Jooni · 30/06/2017 11:56

I prefer Ada too, but it's a nice name.

user1498818386 · 30/06/2017 12:33

pronounced like how it's spelt?

Do you mean Ah-EE-da? I prefer that to Ada, but some may think it is a 'unique' spelling of Ada so you may have to explain the pronunciation from time to time. Will you use a diaresis? That would help.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/06/2017 12:45

Just Ada.

user1498818386 · 30/06/2017 14:45

I was thinking like ay-da?

BertrandRussell · 30/06/2017 14:47

Aida would be pronounced something like Ay-ee-da.

Lemondrop99 · 30/06/2017 14:53

To me, Ada is a name

Aida is the material you cross stitch on Hmm

Marv1nGay3 · 30/06/2017 14:56

It just makes me think of the Verdi opera.... and it does not end happily for Aida!

LemonBreeland · 30/06/2017 14:58

To me Aida is Eye-ee-dah too. Ada is Ay-da

Ohhhh so (ay-da) is like Ada? Because i was thinking of the name on sound and not spelling, so if i wanted (ay-da) then it would be Ada? All makes sense

Lilmy3 · 30/06/2017 15:30

Yes yes, like Ada Lovelace. Ay-da.

Redpramlady · 30/06/2017 15:35

Ada 😁

BendydickCuminsnatch · 30/06/2017 15:42

Ada - A-da. My friend thinks it's pronounced adder, like the snake, which makes me cringe!
Aida - eye-ee-da.
Prefer Aida actually but wouldn't use it due to the obvious pronunciation issues.

ayupjade · 30/06/2017 15:44

thanks for all the replies guys, glad to know I have the write spelling in mind now Blush

Marv1nGay3 · 30/06/2017 16:05

Love Ada! It's def pronounced Ayda in the UK. Aida is eye-ee-da as PPs said.

Bue · 30/06/2017 16:22

I'd say Ay-ee-da like the opera

Bue · 30/06/2017 16:22

ps Ada is a great name!

Dixiestamp · 30/06/2017 23:52
