Has it been popular for a long time?

I have one who is 14 and there were 2 or 3 others in his year at primary. None in his year at high school.

I hadn't realised it was so popular when I named him. Mine was named after the love interest in supergirl the film Blush

BeeFarseer · 27/06/2017 19:03

One. He's 20 months and he's mine.

FeralBeryl · 27/06/2017 19:04

Many, many Ethans up here. I probably directly know about 20.

SomeOtherFuckers · 27/06/2017 19:32

None , NE x

Pickerel · 27/06/2017 19:33

SpikeGilesSandwich · 27/06/2017 20:58

3...one of which is 20 and when his name was announced we thought it very strange/unique- just shows how trends have changed!

Friolero · 28/06/2017 05:10

I know 2, aged 6 and 8

CiderwithBuda · 28/06/2017 05:27

One. My new nephew.

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 29/06/2017 12:06

2 - my baby DS & one other baby. I was scared we were going to meet Ethan's everywhere but we haven't.

Oogle · 29/06/2017 12:08

SE England. One who is 2, that's it.

Lemondrop99 · 29/06/2017 14:25

None. I knew one a few years ago who must be about 10 now

lorisparkle · 29/06/2017 14:44

I have known 4, ranging from 17 to 3. Tom cruise's character in mission impossible is an Ethan as well I think. Weirdly 3 of the 4 that I know have the same surname!

JennyGreenteeth · 29/06/2017 14:46

One - my friend's little boy, he's one year old.

PointlessUsername · 29/06/2017 14:47

One and he is 12.

I knew one in primary school (90's)

ApplesOranges · 30/06/2017 11:58

So it has been round a good while then and is fairly popular but not overly so. Like the fact it's fresh (ish) with biblical roots

1 who is 14

User24689 · 30/06/2017 12:51

Loads. I live in Australia and there is one in every toddler group we go to. In DD's daycare class there are 4!!

Mumoftheark · 01/07/2017 08:41

2, one is 3 1/2 the other is 9 weeks

elQuintoConyo · 01/07/2017 08:45

One aged 5, work colleague's son. Most people pronounce it eefan, which is a shame.

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 01/07/2017 08:49

I like the fact it sounds modern (I hated having a very old fashioned, dull name at school) but is actually biblical.

When I first started loving the name 25 years ago it seemed very 'out there', I was a bit gutted to be honest that it became so popular just as I eventually had a baby!
