How many Lucas do you know?

Not Lucas, doesn't work with our surname and ends up sounding like Luca anyway.

I like it but kind of feel you'd need to be Italian to use it (irrational I know), and main concern is that it seems pretty popular? Don't think I've met any at baby groups but I know a friend of a friend has one.

Arrrrrgh, I don't know if it's 'us'. Naming boys is hard :(

Sorry just seen you meant Luca. I know two. One is Italian and one isn't

iklboo · 27/06/2017 15:47

There are three in DS's year (Y6).

massistar · 27/06/2017 16:00

I only know the one.. he's mine, 12 and is half Italian and it suits him to a tee.

SuburbanRhonda · 27/06/2017 16:07

There are three in our school (200 children).

Thanks everyone! Blah. I don't think it's our son! DH likes it, and I do too, but I'm not feeling it. Surely that means it's not The One! Think it's a bit too popular too.

Trying to please DH (he is an easy man really), but keep reminding myself that he did come up with DS1's name so maybe I have more sway this time Wink

None.

I know two, ages 5 and 4 both English families. Had no idea it was Italian, I had a English Mr Lucas as a maths teacher so assumed it was an English name 😄

BendydickCuminsnatch · 27/06/2017 17:20

Yes I think Lucas is, the question is about the name Luca though :)

sparechange · 27/06/2017 17:47

A 7yo with one British and one Brazilian parent
And mine

BalloonDinosaur · 27/06/2017 18:58

Me and DP had a similar conversation, he really wanted to call DS Luca, but I felt we were too British to pull it off (just my opinion, obvs)
A friend has a 5yo called Luca, but he is half Greek.

We settled on Lucas.

ABCFamily · 28/06/2017 04:07

I know one Lucas (3yrs) and I used to work with lots of luka's (polish spelling) they were all adults.

Lots of people call children names from a different country. Don't think anyway would bat an eyelid if you called your child Luca if you weren't Italian.

MrsJayy · 28/06/2017 10:42

Just the 1 he is a toddler and isn't Italian as far as i know it is a nice name.

Foureyesarebetterthantwo · 28/06/2017 10:45

One Luca, love the name for a boy.

SnowWhite33 · 28/06/2017 14:16
