DH and I are going through boy names and he loves Fergus, aka fergie, gus, fergs. I like it but I'm not 100% because I've never heard of anyone who I've come across with that name! Is it too old fashioned? Thanks Smile

I love it. I know a lovely gorgeous guy called Fergus.

Definitely not Fergie though. Gus is much better if you need to shorten it.

I like it! I actually don't mind Fergie.

nuggetofchicken · 25/06/2017 21:19

Fergie is better.

There's a Fergus in my extended family. He'd be in his mid-teens by now.

There were a lot of Hmm looks when his name was announced, but those were quickly forgotten when his brother was named Mungo. MUNGO. No one has gotten over that one.

I don't like it. But it's also a very unusual name where I live (Aus). I have no idea whether or not it's old fashioned.

I knew a Fergus. The entire time I knew him I just thought "Fungus" whenever I heard his name.

And the nickname "gus" is awful! Reminds me of guts Shock

What is it with people giving their dc nicknames? I thought a nickname just evolved.

Yes to fergus but not fergie or gus

I like Fergus, but I like Fraser and Angus even better (I know you didn't ask but they're similar names so just suggesting Wink).

It's ok

Love it!
