Really early days but I love names Grin and I have a feeling there could be strong disagreements so we need to get the ball rolling. I've got a son called Connor and a DSD called Abigail

  • Paige - this was a frontrunner in my last pregnancy but that was 13 years ago so I'm worried it's a little dated now.
  • Lucy
  • Megan - again, is it dated?
  • Lara
  • Harriet
  • Freya
  • Madeline

I'm also open to any suggestions, but I don't like granny-chick or the current trend of floral and nature type names (Daisy, Maisie, Violet etc). Nothing too outlandish

Madeline is lovely, Lara is very nice, quite like Harriet too.

But there is nothing wrong with any of them.

We met a few Paiges at DS1's toddler groups/nursey/school. DS is now in his 20s, so I would say that Paige is dated. It puts me in mind of Taylor, Elisha, Kayleigh, Lauren, Mercedes, Abbie, Shannon, Mia, Ashleigh, Bethany, Chloe, Courtney, Amy and Libby - all contemporaries of DS1. Maddison and Megan feel similar.

But, if you like any of these, then that's where your taste lies, and you should absolutely use Paige, or whatever you love.

Incidentally, there were 3 Charlottes in DS1's year throughout primary school, yet it's still ftequently suggested on here.

I've always liked Harriet. I do know one of DS's age, but it doesn't feel as 'of it's time' as the others do, to me.

Peta/Elsa/Elise/Raine/Sadie?
I'm just trying to think of names with similar sounds to Paige.

If I were naming a baby girl, I would be considering Harriet, Adele/Adela, Eloise, Liza, Eliza/Elizabeth. What that says about my taste, I don't know!

Luckily, OP, you have plenty of time to enjoy deciding. Good luck Smile

I do love Paige & Megan 'Meg'. However, these names were very popular when I was at school which would out me off.

I would choose Lara... not least because of Lara Croft.

KarineAimee · 27/06/2017 21:40

Ooh, Lucy, Harriet, Lara or Megan - they're lovely names!

Buntysoven · 28/06/2017 02:01

Paige is good as a middle name. Lara Paige is really lovely

Megan and Freya are lovely names. I'm sorry but I think Harriet Paige is awful. I don't like either name and they sound bad together, I think they are quite dated as well.
Your dc have lovely names so I'm sure you will find something you are happy with.

BertrandRussell · 28/06/2017 11:04

I reckon if a name can be "dated" then don't use it.

Pemba · 28/06/2017 19:04

Well by that logic names like Arthur and Florence would never have come back into fashion.

Loopy567 · 28/06/2017 19:22

What if Paige married a Mr Turner!

Inneedofadvice20172234 · 28/06/2017 19:36

I don't really like Paige but all your other names are nice and not at all dated - they are all classics so will stand the test of time. Paige as a middle name would work.

How about:
Cara
Alanah
Olivia

MikeUniformMike · 28/06/2017 19:45

I like Paige. I don't think it's a classic name though. Lucy and Lara are a bit more classic. I like Meg but not Megan. Madeline is a no for me.
Freya and Harriet are nice.
I would go for Lucy Paige. Unless your surname is Turner, then she'd just have to be Paige Turner with no middle name.
