Elodie for a middle name, but what about the first name?

I'm pretty sold Elodie for a middle name, but I don't want to use it as a first name as I'm pretty sure it will get shortened to Ellie.

DH and I are trying to decide on a first name to go with it. Preferably not anything too long that's a bit of a mouthful or anything that could be obviously shortened, nothing ending with n because our surname ends with n and it would sound too samey and no names that can be used as adjectives (Ruby, Scarlet, etc) because our surname is an object.

Our shortlist is:

Mara (probably the frontrunner for me but DH is worried it might be more of a dog's name?)

Martha (love it but it's probably ruled out because my best friend has just named her daughter Martha and the baby's cousin is Arthur!)

Arya (we're both GoT fans and love the character and the way this looks written down but would pronounce it Ar-ee-yah, not Ar-yah like on the show because it sounds too much like "Are ya" . Potentially it could be a pain with people mispronouncing it which puts me off a bit.)

Esme (but I'm not sure about the EE - Esme Elodie)

Thea (just not convinced I love it enough)

I really like Ava, Ada, Eva, Edie and Eda as well, but I think they've become so popular that I'd regret it.

Any ideas??

I don't think Mara flows well into Elodie - too vowely. Not keen on it's meaning either.

Martha has same vowel prob.

Esme Elodie is the best of your list.

I agree with PP. I think you need a name which ends in a consonent but not N as stated or M as it will sound like Melody. Do you like
Iris
Carys
Lois
Juliet

I love Thea.
What about:
Etta
Ariana (was going to say Ariadne but a bit of a mouthful with Elodie)
Freya
Erin
Willa

Esme is beautiful, I don't think Esme Elodie is too much at all. Its lovely.
Would Aria be a closer pronounciation to how you want to say Arya?

Was also going to suggest Aria as a much nicer alternative to Arya, especially if you want to pronounce it that way.

Aria has a lovely meaning, too.

It really annoys me in GOT that Area herself pronounces her name as Ar-yah but the other characters pronounce it as Ar-ri-yah(!)

Aria and Mara are my favourites.

Could have Adaline/Adeline, Ada as a shortening. Or pronounce Ida they European way as Ee-da.

Thea Elodie is very nice OP.
Suggestions;
Maria Elodie
Arianne Elodie

Arya Elodie is a very pretty name
