Just been reading the thread in AIBU! I didn't realise Noah has nicknames...

Are Nos and Noey quite common?

The Noah I know is always Noah 😊

MammieBear · 21/06/2017 22:18

I should imagine they just come naturally, Noah is fine as it is without a nickname. Smile

elephantoverthehill · 21/06/2017 22:19

The Noah I know is generally called 'NOAH, WILL YOU PLEASE GO BACK TO YOUR SEAT!' It is a lovely name though.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/06/2017 22:19

Any name of more than one syllable can be shortened to just the first syllable.

LaurenJS1985 · 21/06/2017 22:20

Yeah but I'm wondering if they're often called that. I know it's possible Smile

The one I know is most often referred to as 'you little punk' Grin

Xmasfairy86 · 21/06/2017 22:22

Either Noah, or called by his surname

SumAndSubstance · 21/06/2017 22:27

I know three, ranging from 5 years old to 11, and I've never heard any of them called anything but 'Noah'.

RueDeDay · 21/06/2017 22:28

The one I know is Noes, to rhyme with toes.

groclockshmoclock · 21/06/2017 22:29

'my' one is Noah about 90% of the time, 'No-ee' when his mum is feeling affectionate, and 'Ohah' to my toddler.

TheRedFrog · 21/06/2017 22:37

My son's name is Noah - he's Noah 85%. However, he's Nos 10% and Noie 5% Smile

outnumbered38 · 21/06/2017 22:42

The one I know is just Noah

PinkHeart5911 · 21/06/2017 22:44

Yes the Noah's I know have always been called there actual name

why on Earth would someone call the child nos or noey as a nickname

TheRedFrog · 21/06/2017 22:48

@PinkHeart5911 - I don't do it on purpose Blush it kind of just... happens? I don't go announcing his name as Nos/Noie, but it does slip out!

mathanxiety · 22/06/2017 08:36

I know one who was known affectionately as NO! during his toddler years.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/06/2017 10:10

I know a teenager, his friends call him Nozzer 😂

Muumi3 · 22/06/2017 10:20

Always Noah
