Thea Florence? New baby with no name

Whatshallwecallher · 14/06/2017 21:36

Please help. I have an 11 day old baby with no name and feeling incredibly pressured by everyone. I've liked Florence for a while and heard the name Thea a couple of months ago which I immediately liked. However, as time has gone on and we've discussed it endlessly I'm not sure. Also, my dad and in laws didn't particularly like it when we mentioned the name. I'm not keen on Dorothea as a full name. My other two girls are Lily and Evie. Thanks in advance for your views and if you have any other suggestions. I really wish we'd sorted this name out long before the birth, I'm struggling to relax as keep mulling it over x

I love Florence and Thea. Congratulations

Izzyathome · 14/06/2017 21:40

Thea Florence is gorgeous and goes well with your other two. Go for it! (Agree, not Dorothea). Note, parents and in-laws cannot be trusted with naming opinions, they are too out of date and will love whatever the name is once it's attached to their grand daughter anyway.

cheesychops · 14/06/2017 21:43

Totally love it!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/06/2017 21:45

Gorgeous name OP, goes very well with Lily and Evie.

chinlop · 14/06/2017 21:54

Agree I think it's a beautiful name. I like both, and Thea goes great with Lily and Evie.

Mrsknackered · 14/06/2017 22:30

Thea is beautiful OP Smile

SuperBeagle · 14/06/2017 22:58

I find Thea Florence difficult to say, but that may just be me.

Congratulations. Smile

Theodora or Anthea, instead of Dorothea?

Lovely names, agree Thea goes well with Evie and Lily.

trinitybleu · 14/06/2017 23:23

Beautiful name ... the Thea I know spells it Theia, which I think is the original version. I love both!

Thea Florence is lovely. Theodora is another long option

Rainatnight · 15/06/2017 00:17

I have one of those and love it. Both good choices. Please don't listen to anyone else.

Ohmyfuck · 15/06/2017 00:22

I absolutely love it. It flows beautifully with your other girls' names and sounds elegant and classy. Congrats! :-)

RuthB4 · 15/06/2017 03:37

Both names are gorgeous and go well together, and with her sisters. My niece is Florence and she's such a spunky, funny, gorgeous little thing!

I agree Thea could be short for Theodora or Anthea instead. But you could have it on its own.

Don't listen to family!!! I'm pretty sure my parents weren't keen on my DD2 name but I didnt tell anyone the name til she was born so they couldn't say anything! And now they have sweet pet names for her and I'm sure the name has grown on them.

Other ideas if you're still not sure..

Thea Florence is gorgeous.

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 15/06/2017 04:28

OP,

Thea is beautiful: makes me imagine a strong, confident, quirky and artistic little girl.

And I think it combines very well with Florence.

Stick to your guns: if you love it, and feel it's "her", sod the relatives (I'm sure, as they will love and get to know her, they'll eventually alter their perception of the name anyway).

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 15/06/2017 04:36

^ Oops. Forgot to say congratulations! Flowers
(Am very tempted to ask for a pic of your lovely newborn girl, but appreciate you'd probably want to maintain anonymity).
