What do you think?

SuperBeagle · 14/06/2017 21:30

Just no.

HerOtherHalf · 14/06/2017 21:30

Why not?

5OBalesofHay · 14/06/2017 21:31

Horrid

DramaAlpaca · 14/06/2017 21:31

Nice enough for a boy, but don't like it at all for a girl.

RebelRogue · 14/06/2017 21:32

Reminds me of the doctor in Scrubs. Don't love it but don't mind it either.

HerOtherHalf · 14/06/2017 21:32

Elliette?

FreeNiki · 14/06/2017 21:32

No

oneoldmare · 14/06/2017 21:33

I knew a little girl named Ellis which was really pretty, and similar to Elliot

CrazedZombie · 14/06/2017 21:34

You'll be told it's crap or it's the name of a female character from Scrubs so great.

Personally I like unisex names but if it's one much more common in boys then you (and she) will end up with a lifetime of apologising for being female rather than being the expected male.

If you live in a place like the US where unisex names are more common then go for it. Nobody will care as much.

Morecaffeineplease · 14/06/2017 21:34

Juliet & Henrietta immediately spring to mind.

Elliot will inevitably get abbreviated to Ellie - are you happy with that?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/06/2017 21:35

No.

CrazedZombie · 14/06/2017 21:35

I think you risk people thinking that it's a misprint of Ellie.

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 14/06/2017 21:35

Won't people assume you wanted a boy?

Foureyesarebetterthantwo · 14/06/2017 21:37

No-one ever says 'shall I call my son Daisy or Cynthia?' do they?

There seems to be a fashion for traditionally boys names used for girls.

There's nothing wrong with calling a girl Elliot (or Elliott), it's an ok name, everyone would get used to it on a girl.

Apparently (google tells me) Sting has a daughter called Elliott.

Foureyesarebetterthantwo · 14/06/2017 21:38

Ellie is a cute nickname, everyone will assume 'Eleanor' though.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 14/06/2017 21:40

I absolutely adore the idea of it, but would be reluctant to do it myself. It would be really cute though!

PunkrockerGirl · 14/06/2017 21:40

Awful.
And Elliette Ffs there's always one poster who comes up with an even grimmer version than the OP's original suggestion Confused

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/06/2017 21:46

How about Ellis

DaniellaRose · 14/06/2017 21:47

@PunkrockerGirl to be fair, I think Elliette is a French girls name?

Thank you, guess that's a no!

OP posts:
SuperBeagle · 14/06/2017 22:57

Elliette is not a name. Confused

HerOtherHalf · 14/06/2017 23:06

Elliette is not a name.

It is if someone calls their child it. There's no rule against new or original names. There you go OP, you'd be the first, maybe even start a trend.

JessieDoops · 14/06/2017 23:15

If you like it... Do it.

smudgedlipstick · 14/06/2017 23:23

Love it, this is on my list if I have a girl 😍

user1497292938 · 14/06/2017 23:24

i like it

ApplesOranges · 14/06/2017 23:33

I didn't say I liked the name just that I had come across one...sorry!
