I'm 39+2 so could have baby any day now. We don't know what we are having but have a couple of safe girls names....boys names are a different story through.

We like a strong Scottish/Celtic name but nothing hard to pronounce or spell.

Euan is probably the the one we both like the most, but I don't like the ambiguity of spelling (Ewan/Euan)

Innes and Struan are both ones that we liked but gone off then liked again. I'm not 100% sure on them.

Callan was a contender for a while but I've gone off of it because I feel it may be confused with Callum a lot OR pronounced Kay-lan

I don't like names that's are OTT Scottish (is that even a thing???) like Hamish, Fergus, Angus etc

So - throw as many as possible at me

DS2 is Connall, which should really have only one n, i.e. Conall. IIRC (it was over 30 years ago) the registrar got it wrong and we didn't notice. He (and we) have always used his middle name though.

AmysTiara · 06/06/2017 19:43

I'd stick with Euan as it's a great name.

Or Evan maybe?

I do like Euan, I just wish we had more names so that when he is born we could say 'he looks like a....'

Of course - it could be a girl! (And I have my suspicions that will be the case!!)

Cameron or Logan?

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 20:55

I actually really like Cameron but it's the name of one of DHs good friend. Logan is nice but quite popular at the moment and probably more so with the Logan film out!!

Do you think people would confuse Callan with Callum? Or pronounce it wrong?

Lewis was our chosen name for a boy when I was pregnant with DD but our friends have since used it for their son!

Struan is my favourite.

MollyHuaCha · 06/06/2017 21:02

I think everyone would pronounce Callan correctly. Sounds like you really like this name Smile

weaselscanfly · 06/06/2017 22:02

Our Callan (who mostly we call 'Cal' in the family) doesn't get 'Callum' - people hear it right... could be the Irish accent though as the way we say it, Callan & Callum sound quite different. Always get lovely comments. It's a cool name for our cool wee man!!

StopHammerTime · 06/06/2017 22:03

Keir, fab name

24hoursinER · 06/06/2017 22:05

Ivor known as Ivo

I love Innes too.

bear28 · 06/06/2017 22:07

What about Keilan (pronounced key-lan) it's lovely and Scottish.

Ilovemyhotwaterbottle · 06/06/2017 22:11

I love Crawford, Fraser and Ruairidh.

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 22:14

Oh I like Keilan!

Callan is lovely. Do you like Cailean?

titsbumfannythelot · 06/06/2017 22:27

www.behindthename.com/name/cailean

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 22:36

DH vetoed Keilan 🙄 and doesn't like Cailean

I'm now hoping we have a girl

GinasGirl · 06/06/2017 22:45

What about Seoridh for a boy?
I like Eilidh or Eilein for girls.

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 22:51

I think that goes into the 'too hard to pronounce' box.

DDs MN is Eileen after my DGM Smile
