Hazel, Mae, Tess or Juno?

Which do you prefer as a sister to Fern and Quentin? Hazel, Mae, Tess or Juno? (She will probably be fair with blue eyes if that has any bearing).

Tess

Hazel or Tess

Frazzlehead · 31/05/2017 17:49

Ooh interesting, thanks everyone! Tess and Hazel seem to have the most positive reactions. Tess and Hazel are my favourites, but still have reservations about a blue eyed blond Hazel and whether Tess is too nicknamey. DH likes Juno best. I like it but not sure it would suit a slightly frumpy middle ages woman, which realistically is what she might become one day.

Tess. Don't like Mae at all. Hazel is a bit Watership Down. Quite like Juno.

Frazzlehead · 31/05/2017 17:52

I love Watership Down! That's one of the reasons I like Hazel!

Hazel, Tess or Juno are all good.

I don't like Mae.

MikeUniformMike · 31/05/2017 19:13

That's your name then Frazz.

Briiiight eyyyyyyes....

burdog · 31/05/2017 19:19

My dog is called Juno, so I vote Hazel. Why yes, yes I am middle class and white. How did you know?

calilark · 31/05/2017 19:24

I wondered if for a second you were me! I have a Tess already and Hazel & Fern are on the list for another girl! Juniper rather than Juno is also on the list. But my vote goes for Tess (obviously) - I've never met another one but it is normal and very lovely

LorLorr2 · 31/05/2017 19:30

I'd say Hazel or Tess because Juno reminds me of the film.
If you find Tess too nicknamey would you prefer Tessa?

olympicsrock · 31/05/2017 19:36

Tess or Juno

Frazzlehead · 31/05/2017 19:39

Great minds carlilark! I highly recommend Fern, never met another but everyone knows the name.
Lorlorr, I quite like Tessa but DH doesn't.

@Frazzlehead ours is a Tessa officially but only gets called that when being told off. Always a Tess

Kazzawazza69 · 31/05/2017 22:15

Tess x

RuthB4 · 01/06/2017 16:13

I love hazel but it's too much of a theme when paired with Fern! Tess is beautiful! Really don't like Juno. Mae is lovely too.

Mae or Tess.

caoraich · 01/06/2017 16:26

Hazel or Tess

Absolutely love Juno but it's what I called my first cat - after the teenage pregnancy film (she was an accidental kitten!). People may also associate Juno with that film. Not judging- it's an excellent film!

Amethistle · 01/06/2017 20:49

Tess.

I would say Hazel, but I think it will look a bit themes with Fern.

IHaveACrapCat · 01/06/2017 21:32

We have a Juno, so I'm biased. People fo associate it with the film, both positively and negatively. People will say "oh you named her after the film?" And I look at them blankly and reply "no, the space shuttle"

I think tess works very well with your sibling names

joannegrady90 · 01/06/2017 22:00

Not keen on hazel, don't think it would suit a fair haired blue eyes child imo.

Please not maw, six know the back teeth of that name.

I think Juno goes best 😊

joannegrady90 · 01/06/2017 22:00

#sick to the back teeth of mae stupid phone!

Love Fern and Quentin! I would probably choose either Hazel or Juno.

SirNiallDementia · 01/06/2017 22:09

Tess!

WyfOfBathe · 01/06/2017 22:22

Hazel is the only one I really like from those names (and I love Fern and Quentin), and I think it goes especially well with Fern.

Both Mae and Tess seem somehow "unfinished" to me. Could you have Mae as a nickname for Maisie/Maya/Mabel? Or as a middle name? I would suggest a longer version of Tess but Theresa might be a bit too political for an election-year baby!

Juno has too strong a connection with unwanted teenage pregnancy to me.

grufallosfriend · 02/06/2017 07:17

Tess also feels unfinished to my ears, it sounds like a short form of Tessa or Theresa.

But I prefer Hazel and Juno. Think they go really well with Fern and Quentin.
