We have managed to get our girls name list down to the final 4. What are your thoughts?

I don't like Elle, but I do like Ellie, but it's a tad over used now.

I have a cousin Georgia and she's lovely, so I'm a bit biased there. We've always called her Georgie.

I used to like Charlotte, if they get called Charlie. However, I wouldn't use it now because of the Princess. I'd hate to think people thought I was naming her that because of the princess.

I like Amelia, but I'm awful for shortening names, so I'd call her Amé, but it would sound like Amy which I don't really like.

Elodie?

Are people even that aware of Princess Charlotte? Those children are not in the public eye much.

I would understand the concern if it was an unusual name, like Zara, Beatrice and Eugenie were when they were chosen for Royal babies, but Charlotte was already a very popular name and had been for a long time.

FizzyGreenWater · 21/05/2017 19:28

Amelia is very overused. I much, much prefer Emilia, that's lovely.

Elle is a bit nothing. And a magazine!

Charlotte is lovely, great for nicknames Charlie/Lottie/Lotta.

Georgia is nice, but agree with the poster that Georgina is a nicer version.

purplecoathanger · 21/05/2017 19:29

Georgia.

ColourfulOrangex · 21/05/2017 19:33

Elle is lovely and I don't know any children called it , not keen on Charlotte or Georgia, Amelia is nice but getting very popular

NameChange30 · 21/05/2017 19:47

"I don't know any children called it"

That's because it's not a name!

KeepCalm · 21/05/2017 19:49

Elle

EllaHen · 21/05/2017 19:52

Charlotte

Montsti · 21/05/2017 20:00

Definitely Charlotte! I love George for a boy but not keen on the female variations...Elle for me seems unfinished and Amelia a bit meh...

tabithaa · 21/05/2017 21:27

"That's because it's not a name"

🤣🤣🤣

buttercup54321 · 22/05/2017 22:33

I love Charlotte xx

TheTartOfAsgard · 22/05/2017 23:22

Amelia

BewareOfTheToddler · 22/05/2017 23:40

Charlotte and Amelia - lovely names.

BertrandRussell · 22/05/2017 23:42

Charlotte.

Rockaby · 23/05/2017 11:32

Love Charlotte!

Don't really like the others... Elle is ok (pronounced like the letter L)? I have heard Elle pronounced Ellie, which I'm not keen on.

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 23/05/2017 11:36

Charlotte!!

Amelia is lovely but too popular imo.

(Elle is a bit boring and I personally honestly dislike Georgia.)

Pemba · 23/05/2017 15:44

Really like Charlotte and Georgia (or Georgina?).
Amelia is quite nice, but too popular at the moment I would say. I prefer Amelie or Emily.

Elle - like others say, just the French for 'she'. Plus, some people pronounce as Ellie, which seems wrong and annoying. Ella would be better.

I'm not keen on any of them, really. Amelia is two a penny these days. Georgia is OK, quite '90s (I know loads who are about 18). I particularly dislike Charlotte - the name of a tart/pie - seems a bit downmarket to me (despite the royal association). Elle is the best, but I find it a bit...short.

Pemba · 23/05/2017 16:04

There has been one Queen Charlotte and several princesses. Not really getting a 'downmarket' vibe. Charlene, yes.

MaverickSnoopy · 23/05/2017 16:28

Charlotte was or our shortlist, or Lottie. Also like Amelia.

FfionFlorist · 23/05/2017 16:34

Amelia
Charlotte
Georgia
Elle

mintich · 23/05/2017 16:46

Georgia is my favourite

tabithaa · 23/05/2017 17:52

Which is your favourite op?

29Palms · 23/05/2017 20:28

We should have had a ruling Queen Charlotte. Princess Charlotte was the only child and heir of George IV, but she died young in childbirth. Had she lived, we probably wouldn't have got Queen Victoria.
