My partners name is Joseph so he's called joe for short, thinking so will Josiah! What do you think of the name?

Reminds me of the West Wing! President Bartlett was Josiah, but was called Jed for short.

Wolfiefan · 15/05/2017 18:36

So dad is Joe and son will be Joe? I wouldn't.

Second name will be Antonio
So Josiah Antonio then his last name?

He'd be named after a great president. Grin

DH's grandad was a Josiah, I love the name.

WanderingTrolley1 · 15/05/2017 18:47

Love it!

Lweji · 15/05/2017 18:47

Could the short name be Josh? That would be almost as good as Jed. Smile

Buglife · 15/05/2017 18:51

I love it! Bartlett for America! It's a nice old fashioned biblical name which can have a few shortenings so it can sound more informal too. My son has a fairly long biblical name which gets shortened to something we call him every day, everyone says how lovely his full name is as well.

YouWhatMate · 15/05/2017 19:20

I like it a lot. But two points:

  1. Yes I do think it will be shortened to Joe by most people.
  2. Josiah Antonio don't go great together in my opinion because of the A sounds running into each other. I would want the second name to begin with a consonant.
Lweji · 15/05/2017 19:39

Would you be brave enough to have Bartlet as middle name?

BlueEyeGreenEye · 15/05/2017 20:19

I know a Jasiah, always thought it was a strange name, but he was foreign.
