Baby boy number 3 sibling to August and Franklin. We were all set on a name then DH throws a spanner in the works

Top picks:
Henry Rafe
Peter Cillian

The other option for a middle name is too outing if I post it but we both love it and it goes with both names (Henry and Peter)

Very open to new ideas

I love Caspar, Raphael etc but DH isn't so keen...

Love Peter Cillian and really like Henry Rafe too.

Any of these?

Rowan
Lawrence
Christopher (with nn Kit)
Angus
Magnus

Rockaby · 13/05/2017 07:55

And all the best with induction Flowers!

ahipponamedbooboobutt · 13/05/2017 07:55

Henry is lovely. I don't like Peter

dotandstripe · 13/05/2017 08:07

Peter is way too usual to go with the more unusual (in a good way) names of your other children IMHO.

My grandmother had two sisters and two had gorgeous creative sounding names and one a really boring one, and we often wondered why.

MarcelineQueen · 13/05/2017 08:07

I much prefer your middle name choices. Henry seems a bit bland next to August and Franklin - which are excellent names

Best of luck with your induction, you've got plenty of time for naming Flowers

FizzyGreenWater · 13/05/2017 08:15

August, Franklin and ...Peter?

Henry marginally more similar, but still rather vanilla compared with your other DC?

What was the original name? Your other choices seem far more similar to the other dc, so I'm guessing your DH has decided he's not keen on another 'unusual' name... but I do think it's also a bit of a bad idea to have a third with a name choice which is very dissimilar to the feel of the other two.

PocketNiffler · 13/05/2017 08:16

What about hendrik?

FizzyGreenWater · 13/05/2017 08:35

The others are very strong, quite historical-feel names. They also shorten well (Gus, Frank)

I also thought Magnus (though quite similar to August).

Vincent
Sebastian
Leo? (short in itself, but really fits with the others I think)

Chamomiletea · 13/05/2017 08:47

The reason for Peter is both our fathers are called Peter. Henry has always been a favourite.

Original name was Frederick.

Can't use Leo. Love Sebastian.

Yes to plenty of time! Looks like this will take a few days

Chamomiletea · 13/05/2017 08:49

I agree with you all - I really like strong names that have great nickname potential.

OP posts:
FizzyGreenWater · 13/05/2017 09:25

Ah Frederick is very close to Franklin. Maybe a good call?

Sebastian is brilliant and shortens wonderfully in a way that complements your others.

Christopher nn Kit? (again quite vanilla but unusual these days and Kit is great)

Maxiumus/Maximilian nn Max?

Benedict, nickname Ned or Ben. Job done. Benedict Peter. Lovely.

Chamomiletea · 13/05/2017 10:50

Benedict and Philip are lovely

CricketRuntAndRashers · 13/05/2017 11:00

I like all of those! (not helpful...)

Peter is gorgeous.

William, Anthony, Jonathan, Fabian or Sebastian?

Benedict Peter is lovely :)!

I like Rafe.

EweAreHere · 13/05/2017 12:29

Rafe Cillian or Cillian Rafe

Sorry, but dislike both Henry (very popular around here, too) and Peter as names. Plus they don't get with August and Franklin really, whereas Rafe and Cillian do...

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 13/05/2017 16:27

I love Christopher and my son's name on his bc is Kit Edward so a thumbs up from Christopher / Kit

Other boy names I think go with your two (cracking btw) sons' names are

Jerome
Hector
Fitz
Edgar
Lachlan
Rufus
Monty
Brody
Lysander
Lawrence / Lawrie
Philip / Pip

mum2be2boys · 13/05/2017 17:15

I like Henry Rafe, also like Rafe on its own. It goes nicely with sibling names. Previous suggestion of Kit is great too, I wanted Kit for son 2 but husband said no!

Good luck with the induction, I hope things are progressing nicely :-)
