I'm not pregnant or anything.

Just remebering a girl I knew at school called Violet Millicent and wondered how people regarded the name.

I think it's lovely, as is Milly. I love old fashioned names though.

theresamustgo · 16/05/2017 14:46

I think of Millicent Fawcett the feminist and radical. A jolly good name to share.

MuvaWifey77 · 16/05/2017 19:58

Reminds me off Maleficent.

Susiethetortoiseshellcat · 17/05/2017 03:01

I actually love it. I know a 16 year old with this name who pulls it off well and it goes with the old fashioned vibe that's popular at the moment.

grufallosfriend · 17/05/2017 08:49

Millicent is thousand (milli) hundred (cent) to me

Maudlinmaud · 17/05/2017 08:50

Love the name.

HildaOg · 17/05/2017 12:51

Bizarrely it's starting to grow on me. A lot. Everytime I see it on the "I'm on" section, I start to like it a little bit more.

Rockaby · 17/05/2017 14:09

I immediately think of Meleficent too. I don't like Milly very much as a nn either, so probably would vote no on Millicent.

I really, really like the French original - Melisande or Melisent.

As a child, I was fond of the Milly Molly Mandy books; the illustrations - especially the map of the village endpapers - fascinated me.

I have a 4yo Millicent, never Millie, sometimes Mills. We gets lots of lovely comments, to our face anyway Grin. but we absolutely love it! We thought there was something very charming about it, we loved the meaning of strength and its 100% perfect for her. Smile

Nonameyet1 · 18/05/2017 13:16

I love it! I really wanted it but have a niece Millie so I didn't!

Dixiestamp · 19/05/2017 01:47

It's a bit Enid Blyton for me, but I like Millie.

Toddlerteaplease · 19/05/2017 03:44

I know a Milicent. She absolutely loathes it. She's always known as Milly.

Mumoftheark · 20/05/2017 03:40

Wasn't there a Disney baddie with this name? Or have I made that up lol. Reminds me of one anyway

SuperBeagle · 20/05/2017 04:49

Mumoftheark Maleficent? The movie with Angelina Jolie?

It does sound similar.
