I love Georgina.
If we start listing names that we really dislike, we may start upsetting people OP.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 07/05/2017 18:59

Sugar

True. I didn't think of that Blush

I think I'll just list the middle names and see what some may think.

Right: (just checked with DH whether this is really what we want/nothing was vetoed etc)

Victoria Francesca Fleur (DH's favourite)
Louisa Viola Charlotte
Viola Francesca Fleur
Francesca Vittoria Fleur (this is my favourite. Does it sound horrible)?
Francesca Victoria Fleur
Francesca Titania Fleur (I personally really like this one as well)

Rockaby · 07/05/2017 19:51

I like Victoria Francesca Fleur and Francesca Titania Fleur best. I think, of those two, I like Francesca Titania Fleur most.

I guess the deciding factor could be potential shortened versions? Do you especially love / hate any of the obvious ones for either name?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/05/2017 20:01

😄
I like;
Francesca Vittoria Fleur best.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 07/05/2017 20:10

Rockaby

Not really... I do rather like Cissie and Cesca? But people could come up with something really random, I guess. Most nicknames seem rather random, imo. (Mine certainly is...)

Sugar:
Oh, that's really great. :) I was worried about that one, tbh...

OP posts:
Rockaby · 07/05/2017 20:44

I suppose Frankie, Fran, Franny and Cesca are the obvious ones for Francesca. Vicky, Tori and Ria for Victoria. Do you hate any of them?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/05/2017 20:50

Cissie is really sweet.

sidonie1 · 07/05/2017 21:11

Love Viola, Victoria and Francesca! Really love Viola, but was vetoed...

29Palms · 07/05/2017 21:18

I only really like Victoria out of the choices.

Georgina and Francesca sound a bit "chewy" to me.
Viola makes me think of violent.
Louisa is my second choice.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 07/05/2017 21:26

No, I don't hate any of those. All of those are actually rather lovely imo, Rockaby. Thanks :)
Thanks, sugar. :)

DH has just suggested these:
Francesca Flurina Elizabeth
Francesca Viola Elizabeth
Louisa Flurina Elizabeth

Maybe we should just go with one of DH's suggestions. Seeing as he actually prefers his to mine (whereas I'm just... unsure).

Is LouLou a likely nickname for Louisa? I just realised that I actually do dislike Lou-Lou.

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 07/05/2017 21:30

I love Louisa & Georgina, not so keen on the others.

Flurina? Hmm, never heard of that. Sounds like something you'd find in toothpaste. Fleur is much nicer.

Rockaby · 07/05/2017 21:33

cricket, I was hoping you'd hate one of those nns, to help you decide Grin! Oh well. Maybe wait till she arrives and see which she looks like?

Rockaby · 07/05/2017 21:34

Agree that Fleur is nicer than Flurina imo.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 07/05/2017 22:52

Rockaby

I unfortunately don't seem to have a strong preference or dislike for any of those...

Do you think the name Louisa would be shortened to Lou-Lou? Because that is a nickname I actually do dislike.

OP posts:
Rockaby · 08/05/2017 07:04

Hmmm I wouldn't shorten Louisa to Lou-Lou, but I would say it's likely someone might try at some point. Maybe at school or somewhere. I think Lou is the most likely though and imagine Lou-Lou maybe as more of a jokey name between close friends.

chipsnmayo · 08/05/2017 08:18

I love Victoria, so underused these days and Iike Tori as nickname.

Louisa I also like, I've never heard of the nickname Lou-Lou used (and my middle name is Louise).

Francesca seems to screechy to me.

Georgina is a bit meh too me.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 08/05/2017 12:54

After sleeping on it I realised that I actually don't like Victoria as much as the other names. It seems very... harsh.

But I do really like Viola, Louisa and Francesca. And also Vittoria.

But Vittoria would be misspelled, wouldn't it?

But are Louisa and Francesca too old-fashioned? Is Viola too close to Violet?

OP posts:
HeteronormativeHaybales · 08/05/2017 12:56

Victoria, Louisa and Francesca are lovely. I think my favourite is Louisa, with Francesca a close second.

Not keen on Georgina or Viola, but they're far from terrible.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 08/05/2017 12:58

Louisa is quite underused - not 'old-fashioned' at all, or if it is, in a good way. Ditto Francesca.

ACatCalledFang · 08/05/2017 12:58

I think Viola is likely to be misheard as Violet, but it's a lovely name.

Louisa is definitely not old-fashioned - it sounds very classy and a bit unusual at the moment, but instantly recognisable.

Francesca is also not old-fashioned to me - it's a pretty name.

Vittoria will definitely be misspelled and misheard. Sorry! I'm not a fan of this name, personally - I think your other choices are much nicer.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 08/05/2017 13:23

Louisa Flurina Elizabeth, I like it.
Could be Loui/Lui/Lou/Lu, not LouLou though !
It has a nice flow.

29Palms · 08/05/2017 13:30

Flurina doesn't sound like a real name to me. How about Florinda?

CricketRuntAndRashers · 08/05/2017 13:34

Underused, classy and unusual. That does sound very positive, thanks :)

DH vetoed Titania as a middle name.

SO:

Louisa Francesca Fleur
Louisa Flurina Elizabeth

Francesca Mia Elizabeth (I honestly love this one. But is it too "boring"?)
Francesca Vittoria Fleur
Francesca Flurina Elizabeth

Viola Flurina Elizabeth

OP posts:
Rockaby · 08/05/2017 13:47

Louisa is still my favourite, with Victoria and Francesca both equal second. I don't like Vittoria very much personally, but it's perfectly nice.
