Middle name for Edith

I keep coming back to this name, it doesn't make me swoon but no girls names seem to be and I do like it and feel it's classic and pretty and also quite like the nn Edie although imagine we'd stick to Edith.

So for middle name I like the pairing Rose.

Edith Rose

Too predictable, boring?

Would love any suggestions for a middle name you have!

After I read the title of your post I immediately thought of Rose for a middle name! So either I'm psychic or it just goes really well.

How about Editha as an alternative? Old Anglo-Saxon name, and also goes nicely with Rose.

WankersHacksandThieves · 29/04/2017 23:13

I really like Edith and I'm scottish too. My favourite name at the moment though is Lorna.

Other middles for Edith:

Edith Mairi
Edith Eleanor

Edith Lilian
Edith Maura
Edith Rhona

Me and my oh LOVE Edith (Edie as nn) and keep coming back to it also. I like Ivy, Alice, Anne, Juliette and Sophia with Edith as middle names.

Laura2507 · 30/04/2017 04:17

I'm due in August and Edith is currently top of my list (if I have a girl).

My own middle name is Frances so I'm thinking Edith Frances. I saw someone else suggested this earlier on.

Handbaghag · 30/04/2017 04:35

Yes.. Also thought Edith Rose before opening. Love Edie as a nn

Handbaghag · 30/04/2017 04:36

deluxetrolley · 30/04/2017 06:52

I really like your husbands suggestion 'Isla Rose', beautiful and a bit softer than Edith. Having said that I love the nn Edie!

marmitecrumpets · 30/04/2017 06:55

Before opening this thread I was going to say Edith Rose! Beautiful name

happydays2017 · 30/04/2017 07:04

EVERYONE uses Rose though! Edith Wren is very pretty

gigi556 · 30/04/2017 07:05

Edith May is my top choice for a girl (I'm due in 4 weeks) so I must say, I think Edith is a lovely name! Edith Rose is a gorgeous name.

If you aren't quite in love with the name tho, have you looked through baby name books? We went through a list of names from the registrars office (my friend is a registrar). I found it better for discovering things you wouldn't have thought of than searching online.

Mombie2016 · 30/04/2017 07:05

I have an Edith Frances.

After both of my Great Grandmothers.

Kittykatmacbill · 30/04/2017 09:03

I have an Edith! I wish we had called her Edith Elizabeth, I just think it flows really nicely. Nothing actually wrong with her middle name, looks a bit Germanic though and is dh's favourite name.

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 30/04/2017 10:03

I really like Edith Miranda.

Edith Victoria
Edith Viola
Edith Maxima
Edith Antonia
Edith Anna
Edith Isabella
Edith Iona
Edith Ailsa

Or what about Edith Rosalie? Or Roslyn?

I don't like Isla. But Rose (or Roslyn or Rosalie) would be a gorgeous as a first name.

Edith dawn

Edith Daphne

Edith pearl
