What do you think of it? I think it's cute for a baby but also masculine for a grown man.

I love it

SuiteHarmony · 25/04/2017 00:26

My son is Rex. In his nearly-seven years I've never met a dog called Rex. I have met dogs and children called Michael, Sam, Holly, Milo, Lola (several) and Zack, but never a dog called Rex.

only thing is his buddies call him Rexy and I can see him bring called Sexy Rexy in five years

ScarletForYa · 25/04/2017 01:08

Woof!

fanniboz · 25/04/2017 01:25

My first thought was Rex from Toy Story! I like it, probably wouldn't be brave enough to use it myself though Grin

chipsnmayo · 25/04/2017 03:43

I really like it.

CakeRattleandRoll · 25/04/2017 06:01

Great name. I don't get the 'dog name' thing. Surely it's a dinosaur name - v cool!

NavyandWhite I would absolutely put Rex with Fido, Spot, Patch etc. That's where it goes. It does not belong with the human names you listed first.

Rex cats aren't bald! Rex cats are curly.

SpreadYourHappiness · 25/04/2017 09:23

How many I know is irrelevant. I don't know any Harpers and believed it an unusual name, until I found out last night it's one of the most popular names at the moment.

anxiouspotato · 25/04/2017 09:24

Love it!

Rockaby · 25/04/2017 09:25

I know one who is 3yo. It's lovely. Fearne Cotton has a Rex too, (that's not the one I know though Grin).

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 25/04/2017 09:55

My ginger Guinea pig is called Rex. It's a great name.

If your DS becomes a red headed grump fond of green beans and giving people the evil eye then all the better Grin

I'm another poster whose immediate thought was Rex=typical dogs name. I subconsciously categorise Rex with Fido and Bonzo.

I know 2 dogs called Rex.

Redblankets · 25/04/2017 10:25

Also, I personally don't like the name Rex, be it for dog or human.
I hope that's ok with you Navy😏

Rex is the name of the dinosaur in Toy Story. That is all. You do you, but I've never heard of Rex as a human name and I would always picture a dinosaur whenever someone said it. I wouldn't.
