She would be a Melody Violet? She's coming up to 6 weeks now.

It's awful. Like a cartoon character.

buttercup54321 · 23/04/2017 22:59

I think it is very pretty.xx

LarrytheCucumber · 23/04/2017 23:00

No.

Rosieroundabouts · 23/04/2017 23:02

I love it. My dd was very nearly a Melody.

GinSwigmore · 23/04/2017 23:03

Tardis of course.

olderthanyouthink · 24/04/2017 00:01

Yes Gin!

or you could call her River... Grin

OhDearToby · 24/04/2017 11:43

I'm not a fan. Partly because it reminds me of the cbeebies program which is possibly the most annoying thing in TV.

Susiethetortoiseshellcat · 24/04/2017 13:20

Love it.

Susiethetortoiseshellcat · 24/04/2017 13:20

Love it.

BasicBetty · 24/04/2017 13:49

I really don't like it, sorry.
Violet is fab though.

Babyiwantabump · 24/04/2017 13:59

I love it - it was what DS was going to be called .

Melody Rose .

Sigh

I still want a Melody Rose

JunosRevenge · 24/04/2017 14:00

It's lovely

Pemba · 24/04/2017 18:47

Objectively, it's a lovely name with a lovely meaning. However you will get a lot of people saying it's dated, because it does seem to have collected a very 70s vibe along the way, and a lot of people can't think outside the box.

But if you have the strength of mind to ignore them, then why not go for it - you might set a new trend!

user1471552178 · 25/04/2017 20:53

If that's the name you want to call her then go with it!

Kazzawazza69 · 26/04/2017 15:58

I really like it, although not keen on Mel.

MdmeShoutalot · 26/04/2017 16:01

Elodie Violet sounds awesome. Less keen on Melody because I don't like Mel.

PandaCat · 27/04/2017 11:00

I like it! Although not keen on the nickname that comes with Melody, Mel.

cheesetriangle · 27/04/2017 11:17

My big sister is called Melodie but our mother is French so it has an accent over the è (it's a popular French name). Personally I love it but I've never known anybody else by that name.

SuperBeagle · 27/04/2017 11:19

I like it.

It doesn't seem too dated to me, because I don't know any Melodys. Melissa (Mel) seems dated though, and I suppose Melody risks getting shortened to Mel.

Although I think it'd be quite easy to insist on the full name.

CleverNever · 27/04/2017 11:21

My neice is Melody. My sister had wanted Elodie but her dh wasn't keen so they compromised. I think she should have stood her ground. Elodie Violet is great!

2014newme · 27/04/2017 11:22

No.
Nor Melanie nor mel nor melamine

Lillieslamb · 27/04/2017 11:26

I think it's really pretty, and know of another baby called Melody whose parents are in a band so very fitting.

My dd has a similar sort of middle name (Harmony) and I do find it's a bit of a marmite name. We like it though and that's what matters.

Kittykatclaws · 27/04/2017 11:28

Like it but love Elodie Violet!

Notso · 27/04/2017 11:32

It's not a name I'd like to be called. I love Violet though.

Popskipiekin · 27/04/2017 11:42

Another one saying Elodie Violet is fab. Melody is lovely too though so if your prefer that then go for it! Nothing wrong with having lived with a name for c. 6 weeks and decided against it though. A friend's DD was named Alicia on the bc but 6 months later they were fed up with people misprouncing (they wanted Aliss-ee-a, but many would say Aleesha) and changed it to Verity!
