If you were having boy/girl twins and the boy's name was going to be either Jacob or Oscar.... What would the baby girl be called:

Suggestions:
Dh likes Bille, Stevie, Charlie and tiger lily Confused

I like Ottilie, Elodie, Eloise, Harriet and Willow

So very different tastes.
What would you choose?
Thanks!

Felicity.
Annabel.
Harriet.
Jemima.
Susanna.

Although I do think it's cute when twins have the same initial. So Jacob and Jemima. Oscar and Olivia.

Not Oscar and Lucinda, obvs.

TenThousandSpoons · 21/04/2017 23:03

Jacob and Eloise. I like Willow too but don't think it goes with Jacob.
I don't like any of your DH's ideas although Charlotte nn Charlie would work with Jacob or Oscar.
Congratulations Smile

Ottilie or Eloise both go well with either Jacob or Oscar

With Billie, Stevie or Charlie you run the risk of having to repeatedly explain that you don't have twin boys

BillyButtfuck · 21/04/2017 23:17

Theodore and Penelope
Lewis and Isabella
Noah and Delilah

If I had to pick out of those I'd say lily.
Congrats though (I do an automatic aww when I see or hear about twins)

twoforthepriceofone22 · 21/04/2017 23:21

Thank you, the boy is definitely Jacob or Oscar though Smile

I actually do like Lily and we started off agreeing on Lily until we realised how over used it was, I went off it and dh changed his mind to Tigerlily.... Hmmm

We have also semi agreed on Elizabeth, probably shortened to Libby, does that go?

Libby would be fine. And Elizabeth is a good name giving her lots of choice when she's older. Go for it.

Campfiresmoke · 22/04/2017 00:20

I would steer clear of matchy matchy name with twins as I think they are a bit naff (mother of twins myself) and I do cringe when I hear matching names. Personal opinion though.

namechangedtoday15 · 22/04/2017 00:35

Also think you need to be wary of boy-sounding names (Stevie, billy, charlie) or names that will be shortened to boy sounding names (Harry for Harriet and Will for Willow) to avoid confusion.

Jacob and Oscar are lovely - I think Ottie and Ellie as shortened names are lovely with either name but as a twin and a twin mummy, I wouldn't do names with the same initial - that's a twee for me.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/04/2017 08:35

Oscar and Harriet Lily
Jacob and Willow Eloise

ladybird69 · 22/04/2017 08:44

Congratulations
My twins would be called Sadie and Jamie

Helloandgoodnight · 22/04/2017 09:05

Oscar and Elizabeth would be lovely. I agree that they shouldnt be too matchy. I know a few families where everyone has such similar names, I forget who's who.

MamaSloth · 22/04/2017 09:09

I know a Jacob and his girl twin is Jessica.

MumofthreeandBean · 22/04/2017 09:16

I am having b/g twins too
Name choice is so hard!!!!

I think Libby is lovely with Jacob

Badweekjustgotworse · 22/04/2017 09:19

Don't do Charlie and Oscar together, my immediate reaction was to think 'Charlie Oscar foxtrot'Grin

DarkLikeVader · 22/04/2017 09:21

Orla and Arlo! This has been my b/g twin fantasy combination for ages 😁

SuperSix77 · 22/04/2017 10:04

Oscar & Elodie are lovely together.
Jacob & Willow equally lovely!
Great names.

twoforthepriceofone22 · 22/04/2017 10:57

They look lovely super six I agree!

I also like Callie from pp long list
Jacob and Callie?
I think Oscar and Callie has too many c sounds.

OP posts:
Mrsknackered · 22/04/2017 12:34

I don't love Callie (I always think callous) but Oscar and Libby sound lovely.

MikeUniformMike · 22/04/2017 14:48

Jacob and Libby sounds good.

Buntysoven · 22/04/2017 22:37

Love Libby and Jacob. They match without sounding twee.

CauliflowerSqueeze · 22/04/2017 22:41

Libby and Jacob.

Love Libby. You couldn't dislike anyone called Libby. Libby would always be kind and helpful. "Who's the nicest girl in your class, darling?" "Libby. She's lovely"
