Middle of the night thought... I think I like it. It seems very different to the Ava and Lilly Maes.

I randomly thought of the same name in the middle of the night last night. Weird

I have a teenage DD named Jennifer ( known as Jen )
She's the only one I know
It's a lovely name ( definitely passes the Prime Minister test )

SuperBeagle · 11/04/2017 09:48

I like it, but like just Jenny more. Smile

There was a baby Jenny on One Tree Hill, so I can easily see it as a "young" name rather than the 30+ name a lot of people see it as.

I like it but prefer Jennie, which was Winston Churchill's mother's name.

Choccyhobnob · 11/04/2017 11:03

It's a name I've always disliked although I'm not sure why, it conjures up an image of a very plain girl in mind - which I know is definitely not the case as I know there are probably many lovely ones out there! Also have the same problem with Jane....

Anyway, I can't think of any terrible reason you shouldn't use it apart from it sounding a bit dated to my ears so it's all just a matter of personal taste isn't it! Would be dreadful if we all only liked the same names Smile

Thanks everyone!

Long way still go to. It's on the girls list for sure.

I love it! :-)

BertrandRussell · 11/04/2017 15:09

Winston Churchill's wife was Jeanette. And I think she was Jeannie, not Jennie.

Lemondrop09 · 11/04/2017 15:18

I like it and am considering it for a girl. While it was popular in the 80s and less so now, I think it's fairly classic and don't think it's dated as badly as names like Stacey, Kelly, Hayley etc

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/04/2017 15:20

No, she was Jennie. I dimly remember Lee Remick playing her in a biog drama in the mid 70s. It may well have been short for Jeanette but Wiki says it was Jennie on her marriage certificate and she was named after Jenny Lund.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/04/2017 15:21

His mother, that is. His wife was Clementine.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/04/2017 15:26

I like it. Jen is such a nice simple shortening too.

disastrouslee · 11/04/2017 15:28

I love it. It was my DM's name and is DD's middle name.

CotedePablo · 11/04/2017 15:30

Lovely name. I have a Jennifer.

Eminybob · 11/04/2017 15:32

My friend has a 2 year old Jennifer. I was quite surprised when she announced the name as it's not a name you hear on babies in this day and age, but it's lovely. And she's definitely a Jennifer, not a Jenny!

dinobum · 12/04/2017 22:08

As long as your surname isn't Taylor

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2017 22:24

Love it.

floraeasy · 12/04/2017 22:26

Love that name!

So did Donovan

floraeasy · 12/04/2017 22:26

Jennifer Juniper

smurfest · 12/04/2017 22:28

I like the name - and Jenny and Jen, it's one of those few timeless names.

spankhurst · 12/04/2017 22:30

Love it.

reuset · 12/04/2017 23:00

Good name. I know of a youngish Jennifer, approx seven years old now.
