Just what the title says! I met a Zydia today (in her 20s) and wondered what people thought? I think I really like it!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sounds like somebody replaced a random letter with Z. Like calling a child Zophie, Zolivia, or Zessica.

1nsanityscatching · 08/04/2017 15:11

I much prefer Lydia tbh,it sounds like a made up name to get a Z initial.

Saucery · 08/04/2017 15:14

I like it, mix of Lydia and Zilphah

Dozer · 08/04/2017 15:15

Made up name?

NisekoWhistler · 08/04/2017 15:15

Gross
Sounds like a disease like Zika mixed with chlamydia

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/04/2017 15:42

Its like Lydia gone wrong. Sounds like being different crossed way over into daft

expatinscotland · 08/04/2017 15:47

I think it sounds ridiculous.

SuperSix77 · 08/04/2017 16:10

No, really not keen. There are much nicer 'Z' names about! Zara...Zoe...Zola even.

HoratioNightboy · 08/04/2017 16:15

I've seen Sydia before but not Zydia - how was it pronounced? That'll make the difference to whether I like it or not!

WaitrosePigeon · 08/04/2017 17:14

Sounds made up and silly.

IHeartKingThistle · 08/04/2017 17:16

I know a Zethan and a Zuban- no idea if they are 'real' names or not!

Sophronia · 08/04/2017 17:34

Lydia is much nicer

Buntysoven · 09/04/2017 01:14

I know a Zayda. Love that. She's 83 so not a trendy name!

Queensparkles · 09/04/2017 01:23

Not keen on Zydia, Zayda sounds nicer though! & growing up I knew a Zailey

Out2pasture · 09/04/2017 01:25

easy to remember

shitgibbon · 09/04/2017 02:11

I quite like it and the other unusual Z names. I went to school with a Zannah.

BeanSprout79 · 09/04/2017 09:19

My DH said it sounds like a name for a pill!

Gardencentregroupie · 09/04/2017 09:21

"Hi what's your name?"
"Zydia"
"What, Lydia?"
"No, Zydia, with a Z."

Repeat forever for her whole life.

Glossolalia · 09/04/2017 09:24

Ridiculous

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 09/04/2017 09:24

was it like Lydia with a Z or said more like Zz-dyer? or Zii-dyer

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 09/04/2017 19:05

How is it pronounced?
