My DH is really keen on this if DC2 (due later this year) is a boy. I'm not sure on it at all but can't put my finger on why so thought I'd get some opinions please!

Currently I just have a total blank on names for this baby! DD is Isla. On the list for her we also had:
Eve
Naomi

And for boys we had
Jack
Evan
Aaron (can't have due to rude initials issue with chosen middle name)

DH tends to like 'trendier' names than me, for girls he likes Scarlet and Willow which I feel will date . I think also as I go to all the baby groups I see how many names he thinks are 'unusual' are actually really fashionable!

Thanks!

clary there's 3 logie bears out of 20 posters on this thread - maybe more obvious than you think.

Montsti · 07/04/2017 16:46

I don't like it at all - sorry...I know a girl called Logan...

I know Islas who have brothers Sam, Ben, Leo, Zach..if that helps...

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/04/2017 17:22

I think Isla and Logan go very well together.
I also like Scarlett and Willow.
How about Struan and Rosa.

emilybrontescorset · 07/04/2017 19:44

I'm not keen on Logan. I do like Scarlett though.

I'm not keen on Logan. I do like Scarlett though.

eachtigertires · 08/04/2017 03:15

I like Logan. I do like "L" names for boys though. I also like Luca, Lucas, Loki and Lachlan.

Atenco · 08/04/2017 04:19

What's with all these surnames as first names?

NoArmaniNoPunani · 08/04/2017 06:15

The only worry I'd have in Australia is people calling him Logan the Bogan

Lofari · 08/04/2017 06:25

Another one with a Logan here. Also gets called Logibear ( I'll have to stop that soon though he's 10 😉) and it wasn't a common name at all when he was born.

User24689 · 08/04/2017 06:50

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions! Logan the Bogan had not even occurred to me but yes, that is a bit of a disaster waiting to happen. Plus Aussies love to nickname and Logie would happen (all the many lachlans are lachys here!) which is awful. Think we will go for something else. Thanks for the Scottish name suggestions, some lovely ones (I'm originally Scottish, like having the link when we are all the way out here)

I'm in Australia, and Logan seems a rather "low class" kind of name to me (definitely not in the same league as Isla). That might just be because it's so popular in middle America.

Nellooo · 08/04/2017 07:06

Just taking this as an obvs opportunity to post a photo of...

Logan
Obviouspretzel · 08/04/2017 09:40

It's the new Mackenzie.

DevelopingDetritus · 08/04/2017 09:43

I like the name Logan, reminds me of the 70's film Logan's Run and now of course the new Logan film.

DevelopingDetritus · 08/04/2017 09:46

Nellooo any opportunity to post pictures of Hugh, It's all good Smile

Marmalade85 · 08/04/2017 10:21

I had never heard of the name Logan but now know three around toddler age. Horrible name.

SafeBet · 08/04/2017 10:37

Logan makes me say 'berry' after. I can't help it Shock

ItsNachoCheese · 08/04/2017 10:41

I have a logan and he gets called logie bear. Id always said id call my first boy logan from i was 17 as i really liked the name and i stuck to it. I also like the wolverine connection. I didnt have stretch marks for ages and when i started to get them 4 arrived at once and they looked like wolverines claws...

Queensparkles · 08/04/2017 15:29

I like the name Logan, I am in Scotland and I only know one, also as for it being 'lower class' why are we putting each other into classes based on names? Thats just odd to me! A child's name has nothing to do with their 'class', oh that boys called Logan he must be poor LOL mental

SymbollocksInteractionism · 08/04/2017 15:32

I'm Scottish and have a 15 year old Logan. It wasn't popular at all when he was born!!

SymbollocksInteractionism · 08/04/2017 15:35

The only other Logan we knew at the time was the same age as my husband so in his 40's now!

LokisSister · 08/04/2017 19:44

Hope I didn't offend anyone with my 'hating logie bear' comment. It's cute for a toddler but the boy I'm talking about is 14, which is why its a bit cringy to me.

passingthrough1 · 08/04/2017 20:12

I wouldn't use it myself because I like traditional names BUT I do actually quite like the sound of Logan. It's much nicer than other surname names to me (Jackson / Jaxon etc). It does sound very American to me but that's neither a good or bad thing.

FerdinandsRevenge · 08/04/2017 20:27

Honestly, I'm really not keen.

Disgusting to see teachers associate names with the word "chavvy" though.

imjessie · 08/04/2017 21:26

You haven't offended me 😁... we actually quite often call him 'the bear ' .. I'm terrible at actually using names though , we are all known by our nicknames including the animals !
