Lucy

My mother is called Marie so concerned over Marissa being nicknamed the same thing!

Lucy is easier.

I've never heard of Marissa only Marisa pronounced Mareesa.

Rockaby · 06/04/2017 07:22

Marissa by miles for me!

TroysMammy · 06/04/2017 07:22

Lucy, a name that will grow with her. My DN is a Lucy and she is an absolute joy but she is only 6. Smile

Kazzawazza69 · 06/04/2017 07:24

Marissa is more unusual so that gets my vote. It may get shortened to Marie/Mari though so if that bothers you, I like the suggestion of Larissa.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/04/2017 07:25

Lucy

mum2be2boys · 06/04/2017 09:28

Lucy :-)

Loyly · 06/04/2017 09:33

Marissa

BasicBetty · 06/04/2017 09:59

Lucy definitely. I really don't like Marissa - can't put my finger on why though.

DeborahFallis77 · 06/04/2017 10:53

Lucy.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/04/2017 12:16

If I had to choose, it would be Marissa/Larissa.
Lucy is lovely, but there are lots of little Lucy's around.

NotJimbo · 06/04/2017 20:51

Marissa, IMO Lucy (tho a nice name) is over-popular and peaked 10 years ago.

DorcasthePuffin · 06/04/2017 20:54

Lucy.

kathrynelizabeth3005 · 06/04/2017 20:55

Lucy is lovely but I prefer Marissa as it's more uncommon and a little more unusual. Not only is Marissa beautiful, it'll be less likely she'll end up in classes at school with other kids with the same name, which is something DH and I considered when picking a name for our DS.

meettherussians · 06/04/2017 20:55

Marisa but spelt this way- the double ss is American

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 06/04/2017 21:54

Both are really nice. But the only Marissa I know is an extremely twatty cow.
But I've never met a twatty Lucy.

I do however like Larissa (as suggested above) and Melissa is a really lovely name imo.

thebakerwithboobs · 06/04/2017 22:13

I was at primary school with a girl called Marissa. She wet her pants when she was maybe four, but was still Marissa the Pisser at the end of year six Confused

MangoSplit · 06/04/2017 22:16

I was at school with a Marissa - her nickname was Mint or Minty which I love!

Lucy is nice too.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 06/04/2017 22:27

Marissa x 100000000

steppemum · 06/04/2017 22:32

I love both.
I have a young Lucy, but it is short for a longer Dutch name. I think Lucy doesn't sit so well on an adult, and wanted her to have a more grown up name to use as an adult.

To me Marissa works better as child and adult.

AmysTiara · 06/04/2017 22:35

Marissa
