opinions on this name? does it make you think of cleopatra because wouldn't REALLY want that. or does it sound too "made up"?

I love it!

It actually reminds me of a tv show my little sister used to watch, it was called h2o. It's about mermaids and... Idk. "Stuff".

I think Cleo was a cool mermaid? (I'm not 100% sure, tbh).

justneedanamee · 03/04/2017 11:31

thanks guys! Just wondering do you think people would assume her full name is Cleopatra? I really don't like cleopatra and so don't want that happening her whole life?

I think I would kind of assume that... Sorry. Although Cleone is also a name, I think?

Do you like Clio?

Hayls17 · 03/04/2017 12:57

Lovely name, I wish my OH would agree to it for our DD! I wouldn't assume it was short for Cleopatra.

squoosh · 03/04/2017 13:16

Gorgeous name. It's its own name so I doubt most people will assume it's short for Cleopatra but maybe the odd person will. Does it really matter?

When you say you dislike Cleopatra do you mean the name or the queen herself?

Bogburglar75 · 03/04/2017 13:40

I've just looked up Cleo Laine and her given name is Clementine, which Id never have guessed! So that could be an alternative if you wanted it to be short for something that definitely wasn't Cleopatra.

I think most people would take Cleo as a standalone name though.

TurquoiseDress · 04/04/2017 12:43

It's a cute name, I really like it!

Never made me think of Cleopatra, until I looked on this thread

AnneElliott · 04/04/2017 12:44

I like it, but as a nickname. Would probably use Cliona instead.

Mrsknackered · 04/04/2017 23:34

I love it

Lemondrop09 · 05/04/2017 00:39

Sounds to me like a cat's name, but that's just personal taste. It's inoffensive. I wouldn't assume it was short for anything

Aquamarine1029 · 05/04/2017 03:40

Love it

FreddoFrog · 05/04/2017 03:50

It's the name of my dd's best friend (age 5). They've been friends for 3 years now and it has never crossed my mind that her name could be short for Cleopatra. I think it's a lovely, standalone name.

goldenrachita · 05/04/2017 12:20

Cleo is simple, classical and beautiful. And I'm very fussy about names.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 05/04/2017 15:42

Love it. And Clio.

Nellooo · 05/04/2017 15:49

It's a good name. It's one of those rare names that is cute for a wee girl and also sophisticated enough for an adult.

Greenfingeredfun · 05/04/2017 15:49

Sounds like a cats name

MollyHuaCha · 05/04/2017 16:09

Nice

podrig · 05/04/2017 17:28

Cleo is cool. My name is Chloe (the original Chloe before it got popular obviously Hmm). I get called Cleo sometimes which I prefer to Zoe.

Curlyshabtree · 05/04/2017 17:57

Really love the name, very cool. I do know a Cleo but she isn't very nice

buttercup54321 · 05/04/2017 20:21

Cleopatra
Cleo laine
and a certain car with a different spelling.
Quite like it though.
