Hayls17 · 29/03/2017 23:17

Our first DD is due in 2 and a half weeks and we are still arguing over baby names ... please inspire me!

I like names that are quite strong sounding. And modern without being 'Chavy'

Potentials are
Scarlett
India
Zara
Grace
Sophia
Seraphina (OH hates this so totally out of the question but I love it)

Please hit me with suggestions of similar names!

Zara is a great name! As is Cara! Have you considered that?

Don't go for Sophia-yes it's modern but soo overused at the moment and as a result not really a "strong" name IMO!

Hayls17 · 02/04/2017 20:44

Love Cara / Kara but it doesn't go with our surname. Have had to rule out so many names due to surname which makes it even more difficult!

CanaryFish · 02/04/2017 23:59

Can you give an example of what your surname is
The first letter etc ? Ending syllable it might make it easier :)

Hayls17 · 03/04/2017 12:11

Surname is Airey

OP posts:
elQuintoConyo · 03/04/2017 12:14

Mary Grin

Sorry! Couldn't resist!

I think the name should end in a consonant as any vowel would be awakward:

Kara Airey
Martha Airey
Zara Airey
Evie Airey

...do you see what I mean?

auntym · 03/04/2017 12:28

Grace from your list jumps out, by far the nicest. Good luck OP!

HeteronormativeHaybales · 03/04/2017 13:25

Frances
Cleo
Beatrice
Rowan as per a pp
Meriel
really radical... Jane

I'd avoid a -y sound and probably -a too.

badabing36 · 03/04/2017 13:29

I think the 'strongest' girl's name is probably Freya. I think it goes fine with Airey.
