Female version or Darryl?

Hi I am expecting a baby girl and was in the early stages of pregnancy when my partner passed away in a RTA, we had picked both a girl and boys name which I am sticking with but I was debating putting her daddy's name as a middle name (if i could find one that went - if not she still has the name we chose together ) but not sure what female versions of Darryl that there is.

Any suggestions? Thank you

Salmotrutta I spoke to someone the citizens advice and they said because we weren't married he would of had to of been present when we registered her birth (clearly can't happen) the only other way is for a DNA test from a member of his family and then the courts have to grant permission, looking at about £5000 so not doable currently, I think they should have exceptions once a parent has passed

That's such a shame OP Sad

It is Sad but she will know all about him and by using his name it's an extra little part of him for her Smile

Just go with Darryl lovely sentimental reasoning for choosing it as one of her names Flowers.

Sorry for your loss. Darryl is fine as a girl's name. Darlyn is awful.

LoveInTokyo · 04/06/2018 13:23

Sorry for your loss. Flowers

Was going to suggest Darrell, as a PP said, but if it’s a tribute then I would stick with the Darryl spelling.

LoveInTokyo · 04/06/2018 13:25

Didn’t realise this was an old thread. Hope you’re doing OK, OP.

ColourfulOrangex · 04/06/2018 14:09

Thank you all, she has Darryl as her middle name
