Ben or Felix?

DC2 due imminently and thought we had decided on Ben as our option if it's a boy but in the process of finding a middle name Felix came up as a possible first name. I really like the name and meaning (lucky) and was worried Ben was too common a name but a bit wary that he would sound like a cat! Also DD has a name beginning F and wondering if it would sound a bit much a la 'topsy and tim' especially since our surname also begins with F!

Felix is awful (sorry). Not keen on Ben either tbh. But if you like them then who cares what we think!

Ben is definitely my favourite of the two.

Another vote for Ben.

In DDs school of 100 children (aged 3-8) there isn't a single Ben, but three boys called Felix. Your area might be different, but Ben would be the more unusual name around here! (south east)

Felix - I love that name. If we had a boy he would have been called Felix.

Much better than Ben that name is just dull and overused now.

Love both!

I know many Bens of differing ages. It's been popular for donkeys years & there's a reason why & that's because it is a solid & happy-go-lucky name. Agree with the majority who think of cats when the name Felix is mentioned. Never liked it tbh.

Felix is hideous. Ben.

Felix! There has been Pope Felix, Saint Felix - it's ancient. Also v popular internationally so good for travel. Yes I am biased :)

Ben is lovely too though!
