Sadie or Marceline?

serephine16 · 11/03/2017 20:30

Due my baby girl next week, have a large family and we are split down the middle for both names.
Sadie was a great aunt, and Marceline is a princess from Adventure Time as far as I know, but I think it's a legit nameBlush
Any opinions greatly appreciatedSmile

Sadie.

Marceline sounds like something to clean the oven with. Celine or Marcella are OK.

Deadsouls · 11/03/2017 21:58

I like Marceline

ToastVacuum · 11/03/2017 22:02

Marcie

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/03/2017 23:09

Marceline is awful. Its sounds like Vaseline. I quite like Marcella though and Celine is gorgeous.
Sadie is horrible.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/03/2017 23:09

Or how about Marcie/Marcia

BasicBetty · 17/03/2017 11:51

Sadie is lovely.
Not keen on Marceline or Celine.

Gummibears · 17/03/2017 12:09

Marceline is beautiful!

I dislike Sadie, it look like someone sad, a saddie.

sidonie1 · 17/03/2017 13:00

Marceline is just beautiful

marmitecheesetoast · 17/03/2017 13:12

I prefer Sadie. Marcia/ Marcelle / Celine are nicer alternatives to Marceline imo. Infact Celine is really lovely..

Pencilvester · 17/03/2017 13:51

Marceline isn't a princess, she's a vampire queen.

Go for Marceline, definitely. Sadie is a drippy name.

LokisSister · 17/03/2017 14:30

Marceline was top of my list if ds was a girl. I love it! Lots of nicknames (marcy/Lena, celine)

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 17/03/2017 14:35

Sadie is lovely.

Shopkinsdoll · 17/03/2017 14:42

My 5 year old daughter is Sadie/Sarah. Named after my gran who passed away just before she was born.

UptownFlunk · 17/03/2017 14:45

Sadie reminds me of sadistic so it's a no from me. Marceline isn't my cup of tea either - I'm not much help I know, sorry.

MarcelineQueen · 17/03/2017 15:18

Marceline is a fabulous name (biased obvs as its my username)

Imaginary DD2 would be Marceline, nn Marcie.

Imaginary triplets are Finn, Jake and Marcie. Thankfully adventure time is reasonably obscure as a cartoon so it's not like calling your kid Arya or Tyrion

Reow · 17/03/2017 15:26

Sadie is lovely.

Marceline is a bit too Waitrose.

LokisSister · 17/03/2017 16:42

@marcelinequeen no earl (of Lemongrab) he's the best one

thisnthat · 17/03/2017 16:50

Marceline is the name of the town where Walt Disney lived - the only other people I know who have used that name are huge Disney fans.
I much prefer Sadie although really like Marcie as a short form of Marceline.

DaffyDildo · 17/03/2017 18:25

Sadie

user1459464195 · 17/03/2017 18:27

Marceline, nicknamed Marcie or Celine is wonderful.

MarcelineQueen · 17/03/2017 20:44

Loki Grin no Lemongrab, but could be tempted by Lumpy Space Princess misses point of thread, wanders off

You should definitely call her Marceline OP

user123346 · 21/03/2017 16:55

I was in a shop the other day and that old 60's song came on " Sadie the cleaning lady " by Aussie singer John Farnham.

So that would put me off that name.

indigo13 · 22/03/2017 09:17

I knew sadie would win on this thread but it shouldn't, its wet and sad. Marceline is beautiful, ive always liked it and its nothing like vaseline or margarine! You could do that to any name if you wanted to, henry? No its a vacuum cleaner, jennifer? No it sounds like conifer. See?! Choose marceline!

SharkBastard · 22/03/2017 09:21

I'm 36 weeks pregnant with a boy but Marceline was our girls name choice thanks to Adventure Time so obviously you must go with that one!

Marceline the vampire queen, it's perfect

Tinnie88 · 24/03/2017 07:12

Marcie would get my vote, not much help!
