Yes I realise this is ridiculous, but we've been looking at baby names so long now that I can't even watch a film without spying new ideas from the credits at the end :).

Today the children modeling in new Boden catalogue got me thinking! Thought I'd share to inspire others currently naming.

I quite like Jediah, Ralph, Lucian, Archer and Madelena, Avive, Marlow. So (aside from the fact that I need to get a life) - what do you think?

I always check out the kids' names in the Mini Boden catalogue.

Ralph, Ben, Ross, Magdalena, Ada and Jana - I like these.

Looks to me as if they've used the MN baby names section for inspiration Grin

Favourites are in bold Smile.

Boys;

Cassius - nice
Rafa - ok
Atticus - nice
Isaac - ok
Raoof - nice
Jack - ok
Caymen - makes me think of the crocodile-y things, so don't like it really
Freddie - nice as a nn for something longer. Don't like it as a full name.
James - ok
Archer - quite nice
Jediah - I really like it! It's like Jedediah, but less of a mouthful.
Teddy - nice as a nn for something longer but not keen on its own.
Ralph - ok
Theodore - lovely
Shiloh - not keen
Lucian - nice
Zion - nice
Delano - nice
Ben - lovely
Mahli - ok
Stanley - nice
Ross - don't like
Antonio - ok

Girls;

Willow - lovely
Henley - no, makes me think of the place and the regatta
Madalena - I don't like the nn Maddie very much, so probably wouldn't choose this myself in case it got shortened to Maddie
Kate - lovely
Marlow - again, makes me think of a place (Henley and Marlow are both naice towns in the Home Counties to me, which is hard to get past, though I'm sure I would if I actually met anyone with the names)
Lois - don't like, but then I knew one who has kind of put me off the name
Jayden - don't like
Julia - ok
Ada - very nice
Lucy - ok
Erin - ok
Chloe - ok
Rosa - ok
Avive - don't like
Bella - don't like
Lily - lovely, but v popular where I live
Evie - don't like
Lila - ok
Dora - nice
Scarlett - lovely
Anouk - lovely
Kyla - don't like
Phoebe - ok
Jana - not keen

Oooooh so these aren't your lists, they're just from the catalogue?

Christ, I'd have been a lot more measured in my response if I'd realised these were all names of actual children Blush.

The days when good old Johnnie used his friends, family and social circle to do the model shots are long gone. Those are mostly just from model agencies now, and, probably, a varied demographic.

Quite a few on there would get the Mumsnet thumbs down, the 'faddy' Atticus is all I'll mention, though Grin

OverAndAbove · 10/03/2017 21:35

Ohhhh I thought you meant names from the clothes! I'd go for Ravello and Henley, in that case...

Cami12 · 10/03/2017 21:52

Yup these are the names of actual children.😄 Shouldn't worry unlikely their mums are reading!

  • Shiloh (shit song, Jolie-Pitt kid)
  • Mahli (sounds feminine)
  • Ross (Geller)
  • Henley (Don)
  • Lois (50+ mum of four)
  • Rosa (outdated, rosary beads)
  • Avive (huh?)
  • Anouk (nook and cranny)
  • Kyla (just plain awful)
TheUnicorns · 10/03/2017 23:47

I LOVE Archer so much. And Henley for a girl is really cool and strong.

Jooni · 11/03/2017 08:37

I always check out the names of the Boden kids! Never buy anything but always thumb through the catalogue for that reason Blush

Rafa and Anouk are fab!

chatnanny · 11/03/2017 21:21

I know a lovely Madelena who is never called Maddie.

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 11/03/2017 21:31

I keep reading Avive as Aviva Confused

My favourites are Isaac, Ralph and Julia.

ChippieBeanAndHorro · 11/03/2017 23:53

I do like Dora :) I may have to put that on my list Blush

aviva would be rather nice as well.
