DD1 is Clarissa "scandi flower" virtue name"

So, like Clarissa Akleja Temperance (for example!).

If DC 2 is a girl... I really like these:

Gemma (my favourite name tbh. It's Italian, which is great and means there will not be pronunciation issues...)
Natalia (after my favourite cousin. One of my favourite cousins. But he will be the godparent)
Antonia
Carlotta (can we have a Clarissa and a Carlotta?)

The middle names will probably Erika and an other virtue name.
Or Mirabelle Ingrid :) Maybe. Or Olympia? OR Dorothea, my mother's favourite name. We're still working on that tbh.

Thanks :)

Or maybe Millicent. As a middle name, I mean. But as I said, we aren't sure about middle names yet. not at all...

Natalia fits lovely with Clarissa. Gemma is awful, sorry

MadMags · 07/03/2017 13:49

It's entirely possible that I'll be the only one who thinks this...but I think Clarissa and Carlotta is adorable!

I like all your picks, except Antonia.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 07/03/2017 13:51

I really like Mirabelle Ingrid. Where do you live?

MadMags · 07/03/2017 13:52

I thought Mirabelle was a second name?

I'd call my cat that, not my dd!

Sophronia · 07/03/2017 13:56

My cat's name is Mirabelle! Grin

I like Antonia Mirabelle Ingrid

peaceloveandbiscuits · 07/03/2017 13:56

Oh sorry, I thought that was a totally other option. Ingrid isn't a virtue, is it?

ClaryIsTheBest · 07/03/2017 13:56

We currently live in London. But we may move back to my homecountry :)

Mirabelle Ingrid would be middle names. Sorry.

I tried so hard to not make my post confusing and I think I failed. Shoot...

I mean, only these are considered for the first name:

Gemma (my favourite name tbh. It's Italian, which is great and means there will not be pronunciation issues...)
Natalia (after my favourite cousin. One of my favourite cousins. But he will be the godparent)
Antonia
Carlotta

I also think Clarissa and Carlotta adorable :)!! But maybe too adorable? I also love Gemma, so. Maybe I have bad a taste in names ;)

I can see how it might seem twee but I just think they're so lovely together!

Carlotta Ingrid is nice!

ClaryIsTheBest · 07/03/2017 14:00

No. But Mirabelle is... well, I guess in the widest sense of the word?it does mean wonderful. Maybe not really a virtue name. But it would be a name chosen for the meaning. Like DD's virtue name. Maybe that doesn't make sense? But it makes sense in my head ;)

Ingird would go with the scandi middle name DD1 has.

But the middle names are currently a totally undecided tumbly mess in my head.
Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned them. I mean, the most important thing is the first one anyway, right?

I really like Carlotta and it sounds great with Clarissa.

RedSauce · 07/03/2017 14:00

I like Natalia. Not a fan of any of the others at all, sorry!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 07/03/2017 14:03

Presumably your home country is either Italy or somewhere in Scandinavia? I think Gemma is nice and underused.

ClaryIsTheBest · 07/03/2017 14:06

No, I actually grew up in Switzerland :)

But my mother is from Italy and my father is Swedish (and some stuff. But Swedish is his first language).

So, I think up to now everyone of the first name choices has been mentioned positively at least once. Huh.

KoalaDownUnder · 07/03/2017 14:08

Natalia or Antonia.

Gemma is pure 1980s naffness to me.

MrsMarigold · 07/03/2017 14:09

I like Natalia and Antonia Mirabelle Ingrid.

CakeRattleandRoll · 07/03/2017 14:10

My favourite is Natalia.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 07/03/2017 14:11

Aha! Switzerland! I'm trying to imagine the names said in that country's language/accent, ha.

ClaryIsTheBest · 07/03/2017 14:18

I grew up speaking... a version of German. if that helps with the pronunciation imagination.
I mean, French and German are both widely spoken. And Italian is an official language as well (and some speak Rumantsch. But eh...).

But my parent's first languages are Swedish and Italian. So, if it's a Swedish name for example my accent isn't probably super "Swiss"?
It's sad Gemma is "old" in the UK.

I'm surprised so many like Natalia. :) Awesome :)
My mother said it sounds like a Russian Gymnast.

navy, Yeah. I once asked on here before I was even pregnant with DC2.

When DH and I were talking about trying again I was like... "GEMMA"!

(probably a bit weird)

Elisabetta is so pretty. But the meaning is so.... stern. And I know a horrible Elsbeth. Sorry.

Gummibears · 07/03/2017 15:31

My favourites are Carlotta and Dorothea! Beautiful names.

FfionFlorist · 07/03/2017 16:10

Carlotta is lovely and so is Antonia
