One of DD's teacher's told her that Miranda was a "hard" name. I interpreted that as "strong". If she'd been a boy, I would have called her Conrad.

Does strong name = a name that doesn't suit anyone under the age of 60? E.g. Bernard or Doris?

No, I'm not keen on names like Bernard and Doris, but thanks for asking.
