Pretty awful name IMHO.

dahlinggggs · 23/02/2017 14:22

One of the worst I've heard on MN.

KoalaDownUnder · 23/02/2017 14:29

No. Very bad.

OMGyoumustbekidding · 23/02/2017 15:19

It is an island but still not sure about it. There are loads of kids round here named after scottish islands, but if you ever move from scotland it will be a pretty odd name.

BertrandRussell · 23/02/2017 15:21

It isn't an island. Tiree is an island.......

OMGyoumustbekidding · 23/02/2017 15:25

Yes just went back to original poster and can see the spelling is wrong.

If they changed it to Tiree (the island just south of Coll) then that would not be the worst name I have ever heard, but not the nicest either. If they spell it with a Y that would be extremely strange.

MrsPringles · 23/02/2017 16:28

It's not great, sorry op Blush

ArriettyClock1 · 23/02/2017 16:29

Faintly hilarious.

Lemondrop09 · 23/02/2017 16:30

It sounds like Tyrese gone wrong. Sorry

MollyHuaCha · 23/02/2017 16:36

100 = the best name for a child in an English speaking country

0 = the worst

Tyree = around the 5 mark for me

Sorry, OP Sad

Absolutely dreadful!

MrsMeeseeks · 23/02/2017 17:50

I like it, but Tyrese is better, IMO.

WaitrosePigeon · 23/02/2017 18:13

2/10

Dolwar · 23/02/2017 18:14

It's awful.

WhiskyIrnBru · 23/02/2017 19:21

Sounds like a name that you'd see on Riki Lake back in the 90s.

needapaddle · 23/02/2017 19:24

Awful, I read 'Tyre' not 'Tree' but still agree with everyone above!

MrsBungle · 23/02/2017 19:30

The island is Tiree. I don't know any Scottish people with that name.

I do. I'm Scottish and know a man in his 30's named Tiree. He's the only one I know though. I'm not a massive fan of the name tbh.

Xmasbaby11 · 23/02/2017 19:32

It doesn't sound like a name. Not keen I'm afraid even if it is a name somewhere.

Paninotogo · 23/02/2017 19:37

What are the origins of the name OP? I have heard it as a last name and there is an island Tiree, but am interested to know where Tyree is from.

1stDinkyDecker · 23/02/2017 19:39

It's my collegues surname

RortyCrankle · 23/02/2017 20:03

Not try hard - more desperate to be different.

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 23/02/2017 20:04

It's horrid, sorry. Looks like tyre spelt wrong and I'm not sure I'd want to call my child tyre Hmm

Aquasport · 23/02/2017 20:06

Dreadful

Sophronia · 23/02/2017 23:46

I think it's supposed to be pronounced TY-ree, rather than tih-REE.
