No

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 14/02/2017 21:57

I supposed people use India so....

fruityb · 14/02/2017 21:57

Doesn't work for me. Wouldn't name my child after a country though.

GinIsIn · 14/02/2017 21:57

It's a bit 'Restaurant chain' or football team. Do you have any connection to Italy? There are so many nice Italian names to choose from.

LauraPalmersBodybag · 14/02/2017 21:57

Don't do it

callmeadoctor · 14/02/2017 21:59

I have to be honest, but it made me snigger, sorry (hope Its not your choice and you aren't totally offended Sad

ByGrabtharsHammer · 14/02/2017 21:59

If it's the general sound that appeals, how about Thalia? I'd mishear Italia as that, I think.

akwgreen · 14/02/2017 22:03

It's a friend of mine who's considering the name. No connection to Italy. I've heard it only once as a name for a girl and thought it was odd, so said I'd ask here for the general consensus.

Sorry, I should have put that in the OP really.

Um, definitely not.

Loyly · 14/02/2017 22:04

I think it's an awful idea.

BifsWif · 14/02/2017 22:06

Nope. I instantly thought of Bella Italia, and with so many of them around I'm sure lots of other people will too.

Gallavich · 14/02/2017 22:08

Not at all

Ilovecaindingle · 14/02/2017 22:10

Natalia at best.

reuset · 14/02/2017 22:14

13 babies named Italia in 2015 (19 in 2013). That is a surprise!

blueskyinmarch · 14/02/2017 22:16

That's the name of the wine i was drinking this evening.

Jooni · 14/02/2017 22:17

It's not terrible or totally out there, but it's a strange choice especially with no link to the country. Talia or Natalia much better IMO.

lorelairoryemily · 14/02/2017 22:19

Dreadful name

Pemba · 14/02/2017 22:26

Reminds me of an airline. It's funny though, because Frances and Francesca are considered perfectly acceptable, also India and Erin.

PinkShampagney · 14/02/2017 22:59

Honestly I don't like it.
It's a bit too corporate branding rather than real name.

It's very Italia pizza; Discover Italia; Sky Italia; Telecom Italia.

Just no.

Don't do that to another human person.

Rioja123 · 14/02/2017 23:02

No.

girlandboy · 14/02/2017 23:03

It's an airline

redfairy · 14/02/2017 23:05

First thought...pizza.
Sorry!

Lilacpink40 · 14/02/2017 23:06

Bella Italia...no!

Sweets101 · 14/02/2017 23:07

I don't understand why?
