George - middle name for a GIRL?

Hi everyone, looking for some honest advice.

What do you think of Alice George for a little girl?!

We're keen to have a family link or something sentimental for her middle name but have a selection of bad female names in our family! We do however have a male George and a female George in the family as well as a close female friend called George (who was my husband's best man!) The females are both Georgina but only known as George.

Do you think it's too masculine and weird? Or just something fun/quirky? And does it work with Alice?

Oh and fleurdelacourt people never stood around me and laughed at my middle name! What a horrible thing to suggest! God knows what sort of people you surround your self by!

For me George Alice isn't comparable, as Alice is not gender neutral at all! I appreciate for some people George isn't either, but, knowing several female Georges, it is a more gender neutral boy's name for us than others.

I knew it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but refeshed to see how many people love it!

@Hanban16 I love that George is your's and your Grandma's middle name! Is it a family surname? Really good to hear hat you get positive comments on yours!!

Don't forget it's not you that'll live with the name, but your girl, at school, then later. If you add a feminine ending she could choose herself which she prefers.

It has a nice sound, but I really think you should make it Alice Georgia or Alice Georgina. Unless you want to be explaining to your annoyed daughter in 5 years time why you gave her a boy's name for her middle name - she may not see it the way you do.

I think it works. Where I'm from surnames are often used as middle names so girls might often have male sounding names as middle names.

Besides I think it sounds quite cool.
