Hey everyone, we are really struggling to come up with a girls name we both agree on to go with Murphy, all suggestions welcome please!
We would like something relatively 'normal' names however open to ideas. We have vetoed grace, isabella, Sophia olivia and lilly. Lovely names however just way too many around our area!
Help please 🙈

I have a best friend called Irikah (shortened to Irri) and I love her name, unusual, pretty, strong and would go with Murphy IMHO.

Love the suggestions! We liked Hannah, Alexa, Holly and Mirren but we weren't really fond enough to commit, can't put our finger on it. I also have a massive family so a lot of names I like are automatically out! Rose was a favourite (something so cute about rosie) but have a cousin called Rosemary. Also if we were to ever have a son, we would name him Jack and Jack and Rose weren't a great combo the last time I seen them paired!
Xx

I know a little Iris with that surname. I think it's lovely.

WingMirrorSpider · 20/01/2017 09:50

I knew someone with that surname called Joanna. I always thought it sounded really pretty, and I think Joanna is an underused classic.

Murphy is one of the most common surnames in lreland and Jack is practically the most common boys name. I would strongly recommend you pick a different name if you ever have a boy.
Any Irish name goes well with Murphy eg
Roisin ( Rowsheen) Irish for Rose.
Sinead (Shinade) Irish for Jane

Pemba · 21/01/2017 10:44

I think it would flow better if you avoided names ending in an 'ee' sound. Like Lucy Murphy for example. Also an 'f' near the end (as in Sophia or Sophie) doesn't go well with Murphy. 'so-fee mur-fee' - doesn't sound right.

Cloeycat · 21/01/2017 21:44

I was going to suggest Roisin Murphy also- Irish for rose and not too similar to your relatives name
