For me personally, I just hear Sharon in Eastenders calling " Denny"...

If you don't watch EE, then It would be fantastic if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Would you have Dennis on the BC or just Denny?

Reality16 · 16/01/2017 23:43

Might work on cute little kid but anything after about 8 years old is a no

Sholly · 16/01/2017 23:46

It's a NN. I've got name regret, so wanted to find a NN, so don't worry about him having a full-name, he has one (if he really wants to go by it when older) but yeah Smile

Assume you are not in the Lothians? Grin

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 17/01/2017 00:53

My first thought was Wickham's pal in Pride & Prejudice. Dead cultured me!

But Sunbeam has reminded me of the town..... Grin Tis a bit of a grim town.

Fine as a nickname!

Aquamarine1029 · 17/01/2017 03:46

I've known three Danny's. They are all bastards.

AmyInTheBoonies · 17/01/2017 04:50

It's a bit of a rogue's name to me for some reason. Maybe it's the Eastenders connection.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/01/2017 05:27

It's a downmarket restaurant chain in America well known for cheap breakfasts. There's one in every town.

Pluto30 · 17/01/2017 06:03

The Denny I know is a female and it's short for Deneva.

So, it's a no from me.

Afreshstartplease · 17/01/2017 06:12

What's the full name op

wigglesrock · 17/01/2017 07:14

It's a big brand of sausages/bacon in Ireland - so that's what I'd think of first but that's just me.

Only1scoop · 17/01/2017 07:15

It's a surname

NoMoreAngstPls · 17/01/2017 07:21

Reminds me of a handsome Grey's Anatomy character.....

I like it actually. What is real name?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 17/01/2017 10:42

Is he called Dennis OP ?
It isn't really, such a bad name, more one to grow into. He'll become known as Den.
Or is it something else, Denver ?

GinIsIn · 17/01/2017 10:43

Dirty Den
Denny's the fast food chain
Denny the slightly dim character from P&P

Mol1628 · 17/01/2017 10:48

Quite a common surname.

MollyHuaCha · 17/01/2017 10:50

I've been to a few Denny's Diners in USA - seem to specialize in pancakes, coffee and 'eggs over easy'

MiniMaxi · 17/01/2017 16:59

Denzel, I hope!

Denny is fine as a nn

EssentialHummus · 17/01/2017 17:04

I think of Denny Crane, the William Shatner character from Boston Legal. It's not offensive OP, just a bit out there. I'd assume you weren't English, if that makes a difference.

Kanewreck · 17/01/2017 17:05

Why be Denny different

That1950sMum · 17/01/2017 17:08

That's not a real name is it?

Sophpau · 17/01/2017 17:29

Everyone will call him den after a certain age so you just need to roll that off your tounge a few times see how it sounds
