Initials spelling a word?

Does it matter if a your initials spell a word? Our dd''s will potentially spell a word, nothing offensive or weird mind but just wondered if it could lead to teasing...

My DB is LAD, my Dad has called him that since he was born x

ClaryIsTheBest · 13/01/2017 22:08

I think Jam is actually quite cute.

And it really isn't offensive :)!

Chewbecca · 13/01/2017 22:12

My mum's initials spelt an innocuous word & she didn't like it so ensured her children's names didn't do the same.

pizzaparty · 13/01/2017 22:20

I think Jam is so cute, great nickname. I'd only avoid rude words.

Iamdazedandconfused · 13/01/2017 22:25

I think JAM is fine.

My dad's initials spell GIN Grin

Thanks for all the reassuring comments. Vag is pretty bad. GrinTwocockersarebetterthanone - am intrigued why do you think it's terrible? Just seems a really strong response. Do you really hate jam or something?

My grandmother's initials before she got married were PIG. Not great! I like JAM.

GloriousGusset · 15/01/2017 02:23

Everyone loves Jam. Can't see a problem.

My initials spell MUG, no one has ever commented on it.

FeralBeryl · 15/01/2017 02:26

It's the kind of thing I notice straight away Blush but then I am odd.

One of my friends proudly announced her new baby girl's name and the first thing I blurted out that her initials would be GBH.

As in Grievous Bodily Harm...

twocockersarebetterthanone · 15/01/2017 20:40

I don't know really - just personally would hate to have it - but yes I hate jam 😊

NickMyLipple · 15/01/2017 20:42

My friend's daughter is registered as:
Thea
Alice
Rachel
Thompson

Or TART.

Jam is awesome!

Medicaltextbook · 15/01/2017 20:48

I think JAM is fine. Mine are MGM but no-one really knows because my parents used my middle name so everything apart from official things it's GM. I quite like it, had a couple of nurses comment but nothing else as people don't often ask for a full name.

Badgoushk · 15/01/2017 20:50

My husband's initials are MRS. He said he lived in fear of his mates noticing. They never did.

Zippidydoodah · 15/01/2017 20:57

I had a mate at school called Jam because of his initials; it suited him and he was fab

IrregularCommentary · 18/01/2017 00:05

My dd has the initials TEA. Not chosen for that, but we quite like it.

calc · 18/01/2017 00:12

my initials are JSM and when so.e boys at school found out I was known as Jism 👿

Pallisers · 18/01/2017 00:21

My son's initials spell the first half of his name - didn't realise it until I got his initials on a bag.

My initials spell something pretty embarrassing (and revealing that my parents were utter innocents). Have never had anyone pass a comment though.

I knew a boy called Ace because that is what his initials spelled out - quite cool.

CourtJester · 18/01/2017 13:06

Mine spell JET which I always thought was pretty awesome :)

FizzBombBathTime · 18/01/2017 13:09

Both my sons are JAW

badtime · 19/01/2017 16:34

If I had taken my husband's surname, my initials would actually be BAD. It was the only thing that made me consider changing.

Singingforsanity · 20/01/2017 00:26

J.A.M. are my niece's initials. Reading this post I remembered I knew someone with those initials but it took me a fair while to remember who, so obviously it's not a big deal!
