I'm really struggling with choosing girls names , I have liked the name Isla the whole time but now the time is getting closer I'm going off the name as it's becoming a lot more popular and common.
I love uncommon names but nothing too wild .
Names like
Lelia
Isla
Mia
Ella
Riley
Lacey
Kylah
But nothing's jumping out at me , any suggestions ? 😩

Don't like Lacey or Kylah. Not seen Lelia before - is it pronounce like Delia. Riley is a car. Isla, Mia and Ella are nice but very popular.

I love Isla too but wasn't agreed on by OH. DD's middle name is Iris.
What about:

Elke (said Elkee)
Zelda

Thanks for the suggestions , I am most frond of Lelia but I feel like I've never heard it and almost as if I made it up in my head , as I loved the name Layla and it came from that. Does anyone else think it sounds strange or Okay

fimble26 · 09/01/2017 19:59

Would be pronounced like lee - la

Raines100 · 09/01/2017 20:33

Have you name-changed, OP?

Lelia spells 'Lell-ee-uh', which is not a name as far as I'm aware. You can't pronounce 'lia' as 'la'. That makes no sense. Are you misspelling Leila, perhaps? It's an alternative spelling of Layla, pronounced the same.

Leela is the one-eyed girl off of Futurama. I think it's a nice name, and the association wouldn't bother me.
I also like Isla, Mia, Ella, and Riley. Not keen on Lacey, and Kylah sounds made up.

BikeRunSki · 09/01/2017 20:57

Leah

fimble26 · 09/01/2017 21:28

Yes I have and yeah my bad , I meant Leila not Lelia , I thought it was another way to spell Layla but looked strange to me , I'm not very keen on the spelling of leela but at the same time wouldn't want my daughters name being mispronounce because of my spellings , such a tricky choice 😩

MikeUniformMike · 09/01/2017 23:29

I like Leila (pron. Leela). I thought Lelia was nice too.

Pretty but it will get shortened

My little girl is Mila (pronounced like My-la), I loved Isla and Mia so we went with that! Baby number 2 on the way and if it's a girl we're thinking of Freya or Aubrey! There's so many beautiful girl names: Ava, Sienna I could go on for days! Blush x

TeshiB · 15/01/2017 20:01

Faye, Aila, Luna,
Aria, Maisie, Saffie.

fimble26 · 21/01/2017 23:13

Oh wow I love the name mila, such a good mix of 2 names I also love , Aubrey has been on and off my list too, I love it I'm just so undecided , I love pretty girly names but I love the whole unique quirky names too, like my cousin her name is tallulah which 10 years ago when She was named it , I couldn't believe how beautiful it was and rare it was to hear of a little child named tallulah and still now I'm so gripped on it , I just wanna have that passion towards the name I choose for my little one
