Amelia, Ava or Olivia?

These are my front runners but I really can't decide between them!

I feel;

Amelia is quite a mouthful to say and I'm not sure what people will shorten it to. An Amelia I know is nicknamed 'Meems'.

No one I speak to is over keen on Ava.

And Olivia is very popular!

Can you please give me your opinions?

Thanks Smile

I know an Emilia and an Amelie. I think they're both much rarer and interesting, personally.

AmberEars · 07/01/2017 20:15

Olivia

Sophronia · 07/01/2017 20:38

Ava

Thank you so much for everyone's opinions, really appreciate it.

This is my first so don't really know the names of many young children in my area. Couldn't say what is popular or not locally.

Does anyone like Jennifer?

My child is a 'Ava' B (ok different name) at school, she still loves her name! I get in the Mumsnet world, having the same name as someone else in your class is just awful, but in reality, it's no biggie. It's better to have a lovely name you adore, and not just pick something to be different.

Cosmicglitterpug · 07/01/2017 20:51

Ava of those three.

Jennifer is lovely.

Geniveve?

123beanie · 07/01/2017 20:51

Favourite is Ava from that list

Greenteandchives · 07/01/2017 20:54

Jennifer is lovely, and unusual atm. Amelia to me is always 'without limbs'. (medical term) so I really really don't like it.

Brollsdolls · 07/01/2017 20:57

Jennifer, Jenny, Jennie all lovely!
Also love Genevieve

1horatio · 07/01/2017 21:03

I love Genevieve.
But Jennifer is really nice as well:)!

sammyjayneex · 07/01/2017 21:18

Jennifer is lovely ❤️

AvaBird · 07/01/2017 22:17

Oh but Ava's gorgeous. And it depends on where you live, I know one teenaged Ava and none elss

AlwaysTeaTime · 07/01/2017 22:52

Jennifer is lovely, and she is very likely to be the only one in her class. I only know one Jennifer under 18, and she's Scottish- it's even less common in England. But still a very normal name, and Jenny is cute!

Daisychain2017 · 07/01/2017 23:05

I'd probably shorten it to Jenna

LizzieVereker · 07/01/2017 23:08

I like Olivia and Amelia is my favourite. Personally, and this will depend on where you live, I would avoid Ava - we are awash with Ava's in South London and Essex.

harderandharder2breathe · 08/01/2017 13:07

I love Amelia

It's usually shortens to milly/millie but could also be Amy

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 08/01/2017 13:13

I like Amelia but also love Amelie (French) just a little different. Also Abigail?
Then Olivia.
Last Ava.

CatThiefKeith · 08/01/2017 13:16

I have an Amelia and love it. Her classmates have christened her Mimi though. Sad

datingbarb · 08/01/2017 13:25

Amelia - it's my dd's name

I know everyone says it's hugely popular but dd now 12 was the only Amelia all through nursery/primary school and now at secondary (I very large secondary) she is one of only 3

The only other Amelia I know is a lady in her 40's who uses Amy as nn

My dd nickname is Minnie, not intentional we thought it would be Millie but dd1 couldn't say it and called her Minnie and it's always stuck
