Cora Thomasina.

Surname is Lee, so Cora Lee.

Thoughts? Smile DD is due in 3 days and I was about ready to just name her "the baby".

Cora is a beautiful name. Nice choice

LobsterQuadrille · 06/01/2017 08:02

I like Cora but, if I asked someone's name and they replied "Cora Lee" I would think they were saying "Coralie", probably because I know one. Sorry, not that helpful - many congratulations on your impending arrival!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/01/2017 08:04

Very nice. She'll have to get used to a little break between the two words when asked her name to stop it sounding like Coralie but she'll get used to that.

Glitterous · 06/01/2017 08:11

I love Cora but I would also assume Coralie when first heard.

I think Lee is a difficult surname to have, it's hard to use a lot of 'ee' ending names which cuts out a lot of popular choices and whatever name you choose sounds double barrelled.

GinIsIn · 06/01/2017 08:12

As PPs have said, it's nice but people will probably think her name is Coralie?

Sophronia · 06/01/2017 08:14

Lovely

Mol1628 · 06/01/2017 08:14

Love Cora. Really nice.

With a surname Lee it'll sound joined on for a lot of names so I wouldn't worry.

Pluto30 · 06/01/2017 08:34

We did think about the Coralie thing but neither Cora nor Coralie are at all popular here, so I'm not too worried about it. Lee's a dick of a name to work with!

Yes! I love it. And I actually have a bit of 'name envy', tbh. Blush

Cora is lovely, simple, strong and feminine. And Thomasina is probable my all time favourite girl's name (which I can't use, because DF's name is Thomas and he doesn't like the tradition of naming children after relatives...)

1horatio · 06/01/2017 10:55

And Coralie is a really pretty name. So, I don't think that's something to be worried about.

Elbi · 06/01/2017 10:56

Ah that's lovely. Great combo.

TeshiB · 06/01/2017 11:18

I can't help but think the C might be underheard when saying the first and surname together

MackerelOfFact · 06/01/2017 11:29

It's very pretty, but does sound a little bit like 'orally' which may or may not be a problem.

Jooni · 06/01/2017 13:09

Lovely name OP. Good luck!

Pluto30 · 06/01/2017 20:02

The ora in oral and ora in Cora sound very different in my accent, so I'm not worried about that. Smile

Cora Thomasina-stunning!
Beautiful name. Love it and Thomasina is a major guilty pleasure. The brothers I know with the surname Lee are Tom and Johnny.

PunkAssMoFo · 07/01/2017 06:54

I personally dislike the 'core' sound, so would perhaps use coraline as a full name to give her future options. You could still use Cora as a nn.

SausageSoda · 07/01/2017 22:23

I prefer Constance nn Connie rather than Cora with your surname. It would prevent the Coralie/Orally issues too.

Pluto30 · 08/01/2017 04:33

We have a good family friend named Connie, so that one's out, and I'm not a fan of Constance (or any virtue names except Grace). I don't see orally being an issue with the Australian accent. Smile

I love the name Cora, sadly it was vetoed by my DH. I think Cora Lee is very pretty too, it has a certain country and western vibe!

lorelairoryemily · 08/01/2017 04:52

Beautiful name!!

KoalaDownUnder · 08/01/2017 04:59

I love it!!

MagicChicken · 08/01/2017 05:06

I'm another one who would think Coralie when I heard it.

That's fine though. It will only happen when someone addresses her by her full name which won't be often. You might get a few misunderstandings but nothing you can't live with. Cora is a pretty name. Congratulations!

MollyHuaCha · 08/01/2017 06:07

Nice name.

To PP, not Coraline! That was the name of that creepy horror cartoon Wink

Verity23 · 08/01/2017 06:27

I know a lovely little girl called Cora, it's a beautiful name!
