So I thought we had settled on Juliet Elizabeth but DH has tonight declared that he prefers Imogen. Thoughts? Juliet or Imogen? Thanks x

Juliet - so many positive connotations

Thanks ladies. I'm relieved that you mostly agree. I really don't like Immy as a nn and I have yet to meet a nice Imogen (although I have never met a Juliet ). I am desperate to call baby Juliet but just need to work on DH now as he is pretty stubborn but he picked DD's name so I really want to have my choice this time. Xx

Juliet. if I had another dd this would have been her name. I love it.

Have only met one (I am in the US) under 20 and she was fab. Just a great classic name.

Imogen is lovely but it is hard for people to pronounce if they aren't used to it.

I have a 4yo Juliet so I am quite clearly massively biased, but I would say that she doesn't get her name shortened to either Jules or Julie (which IMO is a name on its own...). So I really wouldn't worry too much on that count.

Much prefer Imogen.

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 04/01/2017 06:18

Imogen. If ds2 had been a girl that's what we'd have called him. I love the name. One of my friends has a dd called Imogen and she is lovely.

I really dislike the name Juliet. Possibly because I was at school with a Juliet who was a cow. Although my sister had a Juliet in her class who was ok.

Juliet. Imogen is OK but I knew an awful one at school and it has put me off the name. I know that isn't helpful!

SparkyBlue · 04/01/2017 06:33

I'm biased as I have a Juliette Smile
I have never heard it been shortened to Jules but one of her friends in pre school kept calling her Julie for a while.

FreddoFrog · 04/01/2017 06:34

Both lovely, prefer Imogen

Booklover123 · 04/01/2017 06:40

Juliet .Juliet sounds like an empowered name whilst to me Imogen would be quite the opposite!

mollyminniemo · 04/01/2017 09:55

JULIET!!

MrsMarigold · 04/01/2017 10:15
