I really like it and know none at all. It doesn't fall into the Granny chic category for me as I also know no old people called it!

clary · 31/12/2016 17:03

I luuurrrve the name Edith Grin

I only know one, despite the received MN wisdom that it is very popular.

The Edith I know is a teenager and there have never been any at her schools or anywhere else.

None at the school I work at either. I do know a few Florences, Eloises, Esthers, Arthurs, Freddies, Henrys, which are often quoted as similarly popular.

So to sum up - go for it!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 31/12/2016 17:30

Edith is lovely, as is Eden, nick name Edie.

BagelDog · 31/12/2016 17:32

Love it. Only know one who is seven, no others at a big nursery, infant and junior school here that I am aware of so not exactly common. She is known as Dilly by her family.

puddeycat · 31/12/2016 20:51

I have an Edie! She is 3. I love it!

Pikmin · 31/12/2016 20:56

Was my girls name choice 👶 but had a boy.

CatsCantFlyFast · 31/12/2016 21:01

I have an edie. Something I had never considered is how many people see it written down and call her Eddie 🤔

IpDipCatnip · 31/12/2016 23:31

I teach, Edith has come back into fashion in the last 10 or so years, Still not common but maybe 1 in every 3 form year. Most are called Edie.

Hellofromtheotherside16 · 01/01/2017 04:42

Don't particularly like granny names and that is one of the worst.

marmitecrumpets · 01/01/2017 05:04

Love it

cornflowerblu · 01/01/2017 05:32

The very worst of the granny names, hideous

user1477282676 · 01/01/2017 05:33

I know an Edith. She's called both Edith and Edie. Lovely.

Vixxfacee · 01/01/2017 13:09

Ugly name.

waitingforsomething · 01/01/2017 13:16

I love it. it's DDs middle name and I sometimes wish I had picked it has her first name (although I like that too!!). Works for all ages.

raviolidreaming · 01/01/2017 13:58

I don't like the way it looks or sounds at all.

lornathewizzard · 01/01/2017 14:12

Love it. We were going to use Meredith if we had a 2nd girl this time and I liked that it had Edith in it.

Please dont. I am a "young" Edith and I absolutely hate my old lady name. Before people meet me they think I'm about 80, and the constant looks of surprise become very tedious.

I know people think these old women names are hip and trendy, but I envy my friends their normal, not OAP names!
