Eden nn Edie? For a girl

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ChocoChou · 31/12/2016 11:19

I love it but have two on DH's side called Eden, one child and one adult - both male funnily enough. I think on the continent it might be considered more of a boys name? (Pronounced Edd-un rather than Ee-dun)

I love it for a little girl though Smile

Fab

MikeUniformMike · 31/12/2016 11:58

I know an Eden. Known by all as Ede.

SausageSoda · 31/12/2016 13:07

I love Edie but don't like Eden. I know one and she tends to go by just Eden though some people shorten it to Ede (pronounced as if it rhymes with speed)

MikeUniformMike · 31/12/2016 13:26

I think that Eden's shortened to Ede or Edie is fine. Edith is just about ok but I used to work with a French Edith, but IIRC it was pronounced Ed-eet. She sort of anglicised it to Ediff

Great response thanks all! Middle name next ..

Middle name. Is there a name in the family that you could use? Like maybe your, your DM or DMil's first name? I would chose something quite feminine without being too flowery. For some reason, I'm thinking of something like Eden Margaret Surname or Eden Sarah Surname.

MikeUniformMike · 31/12/2016 18:50

Had another think, and decided flowery could be OK. Eden Lily Surname, Eden Rosalind Surname...

DramaAlpaca · 31/12/2016 18:56

Eden is lovely.

Suggest you avoid Project, Hazard, Gardener/Gardner, Green, ...

buttercup54321 · 03/01/2017 00:09

Eden xx

Mamatallica · 03/01/2017 00:54

Eden Francesca?

Mamatallica · 03/01/2017 00:58

Eden Willow would be pretty.

TheThingsWeAdmitOnMN · 03/01/2017 01:25

Nothing with plants or trees. It's just silly with Eden.

It's quite a difficult one to pair up nicely.

How about

Darcy
Charlotte
Harriet
Felicity

T2016 · 03/01/2017 19:47

Love Eden rose

OP posts:
Pluto30 · 03/01/2017 19:54

I'd also avoid anything flowery or naturey. Most peoples' association with Eden is the Garden of Eden, so having an Eden Lily or Eden Rose is a bit overkill.

Pluto30 · 03/01/2017 19:57

Eden Elizabeth
Eden Alexandra
Eden Ophelia
Eden Olivia
Eden Amelia / Eden Emilia
Eden Isabella / Eden Isabel

T2016 · 03/01/2017 19:59

Eden Louise
Eden Anfi
Eden Grace
Eden Emily
Eden Elsie

Thoughts please x

I know boy and girl edens.

Eden grace

Mungobungo · 03/01/2017 20:06

Edie makes me think of E.D. - emergency department. It sounds too much like an acronym for me, personally, very much like Mia makes me think of Missing in Action... sorry, probably not helpful at all!

I do like Eden though, if that helps? Just not non to edie.

Nonameyet1 · 03/01/2017 20:23

Out of your middle names list I like Eden Anfi the best. Louise works too depending on surname.

I like Eden Elizabeth and Eden Rose.

T2016 · 03/01/2017 20:23

I imagine edie as her 'baby nickname' but Eden for when she's older

OP posts:
T2016 · 03/01/2017 20:23

Thanks noname.. never heard anfi before

OP posts:
Nonameyet1 · 03/01/2017 20:28

Also, my Eden has a flowery middle name and people have said how pretty it sounds and I'm definitely not a 'flowery' person as such.

So far we call her Edie, Ede and Eden!
