Odette for a little girl, yes or no?

Nice to read that many of you like it!

Sorry to put a downer on all of these positive posts but I always think of odour eaters or feminie hygiene products. Seem to be the only one though so just ignore me! I like Ottillie.

thethoughtfox · 22/12/2016 09:15

Pretty ballerina name. Love it.

Thundercake · 22/12/2016 09:15

I hear "oh, debt"

midsomermurderess · 22/12/2016 10:08

It brings to mind Odette Mercy and her Soul Atomics, an Australian singer, she's brilliant. Her real name is Ofa I think though.

Salmotrutta · 22/12/2016 10:14

I like it - particularly for the association with Odette Sansom who was a British intelligence officer during WWII and a very brave woman.

girlandboy · 22/12/2016 10:15

Lovely lovely lovely!
Beautiful name for any age group.

It's lovely, as are/is Odile and Otelie

Love love love this name
Also know two adult women with it - they both are lovely too so maybe that's added to positive associations.

Scribblegirl · 22/12/2016 11:01

My grandmother's name and would have been the name of my first born (currently hypothetical) daughter. Sadly I had the good fortune to wind up with a man whose surname has lots of Ts in it (think like 'lettuce', though that's obviously not our surname!) and there's no way it will go.

I love the name and am actually really sad that I won't be able to use it!

Fattycowagain · 22/12/2016 19:12

Nevermind, DH says he doesn't like it!

But it's so pretty :(

What does your DH like...?

AngelaKardashian · 22/12/2016 22:35

That's a shame, it's such a lovely name. I'm not usually one for the old fashioned names but that one I love.

fibrecruncher · 22/12/2016 23:13

I love it and have it on my potential list for DC2 but DP won't entertain the name at all!! Says it's too old fashioned :(

Fattycowagain · 23/12/2016 23:07

So far, he doesn't like anything yet! But the pregnancy isn't real for him yet, he needs to see the baby on the scan first.
Old fashioned isn't a problem, our DD has an old fashioned name too. Odette would go so well with DD's name, but I guess I'll have to try and think of something else...

Thank goodness we already have the name for a boy!
