How would people pronounce Danae

Like Danny or Dar-nee

I've known two and they have both been d'NAY

It's Dan-AY, with emphasis on the second syllable, so almost D'NAY.

I know one. It's considered a bit tacky here.

I say Dan AY with the stress on the ay. My classics professors pronounced it that way plus I think it's prettiest. Too strong golden showers connotations for me though!
