My partner and I gave reached an impasse on naming our baby boy due very soon. We'd love to hear some suggestions.

His first child has a very popular boys name which over a decade later is still popular.
His second had a more unusual but with the revivial of old lady names and a popular song has become more common

My first child has a traditional Irish saints name. Not uncommon but not popular either. People spell it wrong. It's a irritant but nothing major.

Our daughter has popular traditional Welsh name. Easy to spell I thought until I realised living in Cornwall they have many different idea of spelling it here. I'm amazed at the amount of people who can't say it! It's really normal and was popularised was a singer. Even GPs struggle.

Any way baby boy due very soon. I have a name which we originally loved. Partner changed mind a couple of months ago. He's still that name in my heart but partner will never agree.

Partner likes a popular name which I hate. Always have done. Can't compromise on that as my teeth itch when I hear it.

So here we are with no shortlist, not even a single possible and it's stressing me out. I could name a million girls but boys much harder!

Why oh why can't my partner stop being stubborn. I'd be a much calmer hormonal wreck if we didn't have this question mark looming over baby's name!

Senan - or Sennens are popular here.

Euan, Joseph , Rocco are nice.

Think I'll work on Samuel with him and get the names we both want as middle names.

Our baby made an early appearance. Best Christmas present ever.

He's amazing!

My partner announced the night before that he was happy to go with the name I have always loved for him. Quinn suits him. Still working on his middle name combination.

Have you tried this site to see if there are any names you can agree on?

Whattocallbabyboy · 25/12/2016 20:07

Lovelearning.

Quinn. The name my partner has now agreed to. We have had some family negativity over it but overall most people have been welcoming and complimentary of it.

Staranise123 · 25/12/2016 22:43

Why don't you use Quentin on the bc with nickname Quinn? That's derived from the Latin for FifthSmile.
