Hate it sorry

burgundyandgoldleaves · 04/12/2016 16:17

I like it.

QueenoftheAndals · 04/12/2016 16:17

Famous Five!

Aidan2016 · 04/12/2016 16:17

Oh... Why is that? Sad

I love the name, we called my lb Jude but did consider using Julian and nn Jude.

burgundyandgoldleaves · 04/12/2016 16:18

Better than Dick, Queen!

I like Julian. Perfectly solid boys name. My DD has the female equivalent.

BratFarrarsPony · 04/12/2016 16:22

Hate it.
All the Julians I ever met were geeky types with poor social skills.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/12/2016 16:23

I think it's quite dated.

Julius?

SausageSoda · 04/12/2016 16:26

Hate it. I just think it's a really weak ineffectual name, sorry.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 04/12/2016 16:28

I know a lovely Julian. He is kind and sweet. Good name.

Sophronia · 04/12/2016 17:36

It's nice

MikeUniformMike · 04/12/2016 17:38

Don't like it at all, and it gets abbreviated to Jules/Jools which is even worse.

villainousbroodmare · 04/12/2016 17:42

To me, Aidan is a strapping country boy with a hand-knitted jumper, a high colour, a big grin who's very handy at Gaelic football and reversing a tractor and trailer. Julian is tall, ostrich-legged and dweeby with a perpetual sniff and an annoying habit of picking his pimples.

SorenaJ · 04/12/2016 17:55

I like Julian

KlingybunFistelvase · 04/12/2016 18:07

It's a perfectly sensible name and I wouldn't think much of it either way if I met one.

That said, and this is my totally irrational and very personal taste; I don't really like the 'jool' sound at the start of it. I feel the same about Gillian, Julia, Juliet etc. It sounds gelantinous to me which I find weirdly offputting.

KlingybunFistelvase · 04/12/2016 18:08

I actually have the 'jool' sound in part of my own name btw.

rainbow99 · 04/12/2016 19:29

It sounds quite feminine to me

Jooni · 04/12/2016 19:37

I really like it. I think it's handsome and respectable in full, and I love both Jules and Jude as shortenings. Not many little Julians around at the moment either, so it strikes a nice balance between recognisable and rarely heard.

MollyHuaCha · 04/12/2016 19:48

Absolutely love this name - to me Julian sounds tall, good looking, thoughtful, caring, musical, academic, successful... Smile

froggers1 · 04/12/2016 20:21

My son has a friend called Julian. He is lovely and v popular..I like it!

mumgointhroughtorture · 04/12/2016 21:54

My Dads middle name and he HATES it !

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 04/12/2016 21:58

I know two Julians. One is a complete tool who bullied me at work many moons ago. The other is a hot actor who has appeared in NCIS and Katy Perry music videos (who I went to primary school with).

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 05/12/2016 16:44

Absolutely love it. I know two Julians - both excellent people and I feel like they really suit their name. I also really like Julius.

Hardshoulder · 05/12/2016 16:46

A sexist, self-righteous bossyboots who should have been decapitated by Dick, George and Anne, and fed to Timmy the dog behind the scenes.

Julius? Jude?

Hardshoulder · 05/12/2016 16:47

On the other hand, I love it for a girl and think Julian of Norwich is a cool namesake. But I assume you're having a boy...
