Bonkers or cool? I quite like it and met one once but not sure it would translate to the UK without significant teasing potential..

Bonkers. Sorry.

LucyInTheSkyWithDonuts · 01/12/2016 14:13

Bonkers. Really bonkers.

ILoveAGoodBrusselSprout · 01/12/2016 14:13

I often like unusual names but this one seems a bit much.

Having an unusual name myself, I predict he'll soon get bored of the constant comments, the jokes that he'll hear time and time again. Of course each person who says it thinks they're being totally original and absolutely hilarious. Once you're stuck with a name it's very difficult to change it so he'll be saddled with it forevermore.

Please don't

TheMortificadosDragon · 01/12/2016 14:14

Yup, Bonkers.

myoriginal3 · 01/12/2016 14:15

Story is something inner city Dubliners use when they meet people. It's short for 'what's the story?' And is usually followed by 'bud'
No.

myoriginal3 · 01/12/2016 14:16

Plus can you imagine the mania from your child every time a story is mentioned?

DoinItFine · 01/12/2016 14:17

No no no

Irie1982 · 01/12/2016 14:17

Coming from Ireland, 'story?' is a way of asking someone how they are.

Bonkers.

WalterWhitesNipple · 01/12/2016 14:17

It's a bit 'Gwenyth Paltrow'.

semideponent · 01/12/2016 14:18

Bad idea. Hero would be awful too.

SmallBee · 01/12/2016 14:18

I just don't get it. To me it's no different to naming him table, lightbulb or music.
Its very out there but I suppose there is a chance he'll carry it off with aplomb.

GinAndTeaForMe · 01/12/2016 14:19

Not my cup of tea either I'm afraid.

PurpleDaisies · 01/12/2016 14:19

No it's dreadful.

He won't thank you for it. Why don't you just choose an actual name?

ThisPasadenaHomemaker · 01/12/2016 14:20

Awful.

One of the Hollywood Scientology nutters has a 'Story'. I think it's Dharma from Dharma and Greg.

Please don't ask me how I know such things HmmBlush.

Valeriemalorie · 01/12/2016 14:25

How about Poem or Song for names? Wink

Hellmouth · 01/12/2016 14:26

A couple of you tubers just named their daughter Story and I personally think it's a terrible, pretentious sounding name.

Sorry!

EverySongbirdSays · 01/12/2016 14:27

Story....

In the same league as Lucky, Chance, Justice, Pilot, and Moon Unit.

He'll change his name to Duncan when he's 18.

HeyRoly · 01/12/2016 14:28

Plus can you imagine the mania from your child every time a story is mentioned?

Now that would be problematic.

Come on Story, it's story time!

Will you come and sit down for a story, Story?

I'd like you to write a story, Story

Grin
EssentialHummus · 01/12/2016 14:30

Bonkers. Possibly search around for names with that kind of meaning? (I was thinking of "Shir", which means song in Hebrew.)

auntym · 01/12/2016 14:33

Brilliant, thanks everyone for the reality check. Confirming it's off the list!

Wow, - sensible OP!

Don't you know you are supposed to stamp your foot, tell us we're all wrong then flounce off?

I'm sure you'll pick something lovely.

myoriginal3 · 01/12/2016 14:42

'Story, can you concentrate on the story please?'

'I am the bloody story miss! I couldn't be more I involved'

cheweduprope · 01/12/2016 14:44

Story as a boys name?
dailymaillazyjournos · 01/12/2016 15:29

Sounds made up (if you'll pardon the pun)

SausageSoda · 01/12/2016 15:59
